Truss seems to be promising a lot lot more but Rishi seems more realistic and grounded about the challenges faced.

Rishi sounds more Oxford than people from Oxford! Where did he get the accent from? They don't talk like that in sarfampton that's for sure!

Well you made a specific point about it so it obviously has made some form of impact on your views, whether upsetting or not.
I'm genuinely curious which statues you think have been removed that shouldn't have been?
If the biggest impact you see someone having delivered relates to knife crime (a nationwide issue not specific to London and one that was around long before Khan) and statue removal then I'd suggest looking at the bigger picture and the impacts previous mayor's have made in comparison.

I’ve been lucky enough to go twice. It’s an amazing experience, a real eye opener. Heart breaking at some of the poverty and I’ve seen things that will stay with me forever. Uplifting in so many ways and I met so many beautiful inspiring people. Would love to go back. |

Thats what I mean it’s a lovely place to visit but when it comes to it would you really like to live there?.It has a lot of problems that you don’t have to face up to if you go to the USA or stay here.I think a lot of people wouldn’t.

Possibly for some. Others would see it as a strategic advantage to secure the BAME vote.
I think the main reason is he screwed up as Chancellor (inc costing tax payers £11bn due to accounting error on debt repayments), left core tory voting Ltd company directors and newly self employed with no Covid support when almost everyone else got it, and then had the whole dodgy tax affairs of his wife and his green card screw up. He was toast thereafter. |

I feel of two different minds about Badenoch
She would have been a disaster probably even more so than Sunak or Truss.She would have amplified what I feel are the main problems with this country to a large degree in my opinion.
However not negating my previous opinion of course I can’t help but feel sorry for some (mostly the very vocal “culture war”)conservative supporters.Badenoch was the closest to what they claim to want in a prime minister.Truss and Sunak are clearly not that and it does make me sad to see the self-deception there by those folks. |

How can Rishi be disadvantaged as regarding Tory members, they all have their own vote.
Problem is those that voted them to face the tory members, personally all tory MP's should be included and then they should vote themselves down to the last two. It might avoid the race to the bottom of candidates to face the party membership. |

The Tories claim to be conservatives but in reality since 2019 we have had a Far Left/Green Coalition running the country. |

Do you really think we'd have ended up with the brexit shitstorm we've 'benefitted' from - or even had a referendum in the first place- had Cameron been the opposition leader rather than PM?
If you think anyone other than the Tories would have introduced the policies they have over the last decade then I'd really love some of what you're drinking please...........

I think Labour would have handled COVID exactly as the Tories have. Or otherwise I guess Labour would have said something about it rather than supporting the Government every step of the way.
Yes I think different donors would have benefited from the Labour response, and if the medical and teaching unions didn't feel like going back to work we'd still be in lockdown now.
The energy policies would be identical.

We don’t have the evidence that many Tory party members didn’t vote for Rishi because of his ethnicity.
We do have evidence that many tory party members prefer having feeble minded people as their leaders though.
We do have evidence that tax cuts are more appealing than austerity for tory members.
We do have evidence that many Tory party members are more interested in culture wars.
We do have evidence that many Tory members are interested in tearing down the NHS
We do have evidence that many tories are interested in supporting the anti-green agenda.

depends why you are anti immigration. Often it appears to be an element of fear ... Or they feel immigration is making an existing issue worse.
However I also often notice ppl in the second camp tend to have a more simplistic view of the world. Each issue exists in isolation. Or don't tend to beat other drums that affect the issues as hard. |

I’ve seen people on this thread who in one breath want better pay and conditions for British workers but in another breath criticise Trade Unions and strike action (that is attempting to secure better pay and conditions for British workers). In other breaths (threads) these same people criticise the EU for setting a baseline for workers rights as this somehow impacts the UK when we were a member buuuut then someone else points out that member states can implement higher standards if they want. Wish people would make up their minds! |

Big difference in buying gas off Russia and becoming dependant on it. Just like in business, don't let yourself become too reliant on one customer or supplier, if they go south or move business elsewhere then you are heavily exposed to going under.
I have suppliers in many parts of the EU, and they are in a right mess, all in heavy industry, with energy prices and material shortages as they are at the moment trying to get a price out of them at the moment is non existant.
Seeing as someone asked, I'm in this universe, dealing with suppliers in the EU and globally, and shipping our goods around the globe including the EU. Russia is doing the same to the EU and others around the globe with its supplies of gas, nothing new really, they did the same to Lithuania, some will remember when they cut the oil off to them. |
