Boris Johnson wants his successor to continue with the "Green Legacy" he is proud of!!
Is he taking the piss?
Not more than 15% of our energy from Solar during the day and yet to see more than 18% Wind.
45% to 77% electricity from Gas this weekend and bills rising 80%, potential power cuts in Winter. |

There was a regular poster in these parts who genuinely believed that Johnson was TOO green. If you can believe that.
Fuck knows. The world is so skewed these days.

He did what he did for the UK to avoid fines.
He's done more than others but only has he had to.
It's an 8th of what this country needs to supply what we use today.
Bearing in mind electrification of heating, a 20th of 2030 requirements.
Yes - I can believe it. |

I think with a lot of people they put too much stock in announcements which especially with someone like Johnson is not a good idea.I mean I don’t know what his actual position is on anything barring wanting to be PM |

The arrogance is unreal. Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Ed Davy, Teresa May and Johnson have blood on their hands for failures to get thus country off gas. |

Agree with this but like many serious politicians around the world they have been taken in by the green movement and the climate change fanatics. |

Why are people who understand climate change "fanatics"?

"Because the Fossil fuel industry wanted to us to believe it to smoke-screen the truth.
So they paid people to undermine and diss them as lunatics.
Tree Huggers I seem to recall."
That was an American thing that trickled over here unfortunately.Don't think anyone over here is actually being paid for this stuff its just become embedded in ideology.
There is a point to be made that certain people may have become overzealous(Some Extinction Rebellion folks come to mind) where they became hyper-focused on one aspect ignoring the rest |

It's not just Johnson now is it? Isn't gas a global market? You can't blame him totally. When other nations can do more but is restricted because of the " Green energy" movement. Russia just took advantage after a pandemic knowing Nations shut down businesses. This is a result of those actions. Russia hit at the most opportunistic time. It's all self inflicted . |

If we weren't so reliant on gas. Russia could do what it wants and it would effect us.
Renewable energy would give us all energy independence. |

The aim should be to move away from fossil fuels. |

The aim should be to move away from fossil fuels." do you realize the different climate settings. We get blizzards up to 3 ft of snow.your a island much easier to predict mother nature's calamities. So to say gas is not important and just go full electric . When gas is underground and electric is on wires to telephone poles which are susceptible to the elements compared to gas. When your freezing you don't give hoot about "climate" change. |
