GAS Shortage Planning.. expanded

Longridge

Not one for scaremongering or causing panic as many here well know.

But, yesterday, government again played down the chances of gas shortages due to our laughable havinv the "most dynamic and robust Energy system on the globe".

Then 3 hours later Russia announced 3 day shut down of NORD STREAM1. 3 days supply is around the same volume of gas that LNG ship is bringing to the UK drom Australia that was all over the news two days ago, to offload in to EU storage. Net gain = ZERO.

National Grid are looking to pay Smart Meter owners £6 for every KWH they don't use at peak to avoid paying Belgium an eye watering £5000/kwh. Norway has no spare hydro, France say they'll struggle to supply us with electricity.

These headlines are getting more common daily, are they psychologically preparing us for something?

UK Expands Gas Emergency drills ahead of Winter.

BBC News - Energy crisis: UK expands gas emergency exercise ahead of winter

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-62604653

A regular energy industry exercise aimed at preparing the UK for the possibility of a gas supply emergency has been scaled up despite the government downplaying the threat of shortages this winter.

I've said this since March, it's real and it's looking certain, just to what degree. If you care for family make alternative arrangements for heating and cooking.

Just remember the first days of COVID, Government downplaying it as a bad cold many wouldn't even notice they had. Four weeks later, a global lock down.
