Andrew Tate
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'd never really heard of him until a few weeks ago, but with some strong views on women, he's been banned from meta platforms. A lot are saying "what happened to free speech" but I'm intrigued as to what others think to all of this. Fundamentally I think there's still consequences to people's views. |

Strong views on women is an understatement for this fellow. He's said one thing I agree with,One very minor comment
I do always find it quite funny though how homoerotic these types usually get.
Just remember that these companies are always monetary focused and that factors into all their decisions. It's why some leaders can call for genocide on platforms.
The free speech angle is always complicated in our modern age with a lot of people having more global views and how they interact with other national values and systems. |

People always misunderstand what free speech means
You can say women are worthless, no-ones putting you in prison, but it doesn't mean I have to let you in to my house so you can say it |

He's a hurt little puppy. (If it's who I think it is)
Theres a great aba and preach where they watch him rebate with another manosphere type (I think he was anyway)
It was on women's drivers.
Tatwa view was, because his accidents have involved women, they must be worst. Despite the stats.
Where's he'd normally be spouting my facts don't care about your feelings.

He can say what he wants his free speech hasn’t been stifled by the state. Being banned from a platform just means they don’t want his views on it.
Guy was click bait in human form designed to separate thirsty guys from their money. |

I'd never heard of him either, but a quick Google shows him to be a complete and utter cunt. And not just for his views on women. Here he is taunting a father trying to raise money on GoFundMe to fund an operation for his young son who has cerebral palsy:
https://www.thecanary.co/global/2017/10/05/right-wing-hero-taunting-father-sick-child-theres-happy-ending/
No surprise that he's been on Big Brother. What a fantastic tool reality shows are for drawing out all the world's biggest arseholes, male and female.

By the way, Tate is apparently very popular with Muslim men, who find that his "horrific views" views on women correlate with theirs.
https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/andrew-tate-background-muslims-britain-tiktok-b2145982.html
Perhaps a white middle-class liberal would like to twatsplain* to us why the Muslim writer of that piece has it all so wrong.
(Twatsplaining is like mansplaining, but it's basically middle-class white liberals talking down to people on subjects they have no experience of. So basically, most liberal opinion.) |

Why agreeing with statements like women should “shut the f**k up, have kids, sit at home, be quiet and make coffee.” is "wrong".
It feels like your question has a hidden context... Something like liberals tend to be pro Islam, because they defend the anti Muslim Tanya that come off the back of certain stories.
Do you agree with the views in tej article when it comes to women? |

You want someone to explain this article for you. But only so you can be abusive to them and call them names?
In fairness doesn't sound like a great offer. |

The mixture of his “freedom of speech “ and his history of alleged violence against women means he is always going to be a controversial person!
People think that “freedom of speech “ negates the consequences of that speech…..
For example the freedom to move your arms ends at the point you hit me… |

It's interesting and worrisome how pervasive his views are among teenagers. In my workplace we were told not to talk about Andrew Tate as not to spark interest. As it turns out many knew a lot about him anyway, interesting when it appears that lots of adults know very little (before now).
I had a teenager tell me I'm a fascist a few months ago bc I was censoring Tate's views in saying I didn't think it was appropriate to discuss them in a class setting. It has been both an eye opener and alarming to hear teenagers talk about him positively. I wonder if more exposure, even of the negative kind like tonight's documentary does more harm than good for who are impressionable |

I didn't see this thread a year ago but there's clearly an error in his theory. The common denominator in all his accidents isn't women, it's him.
Anyway, not watching the C4 show. Thought I'd watch ACDC live at Donington instead. Real role models for the kids |

It's a really good point, does trying to expose him just play to those who are drawn to him and inadvertently propagate his misogynistic views. There will be many who believe he is an innocent victim rather than the predatory rapist he is. |

I’d never heard of him until he started being cancelled and was arrested.
Presumably his fame or infamy has grown exponentially since he got arrested. It’s slightly odd that his arrest followed on quickly from starting to appear more in the MSM.
As usual it would have been better to just leave him be and he would have continued to appeal to a limited demographic.
But it’s difficult to see what role models boys have nowadays. At school and in the media white working class boys are vilified and emasculated, hectored that they are responsible for the world’s problems while at the same time being bottom of the achievement pile.
It’s not surprising they look to people like Tate for some dignity and self worth. |

Makes me wonder what kind of world it is out there for young blokes that someone like Andrew tate has become so popular.
In a world where masculinity is treat as toxic, I'm not surprised these kind of blokes get a foothold. |

It appears to coincide with the rise in incels. This is the very group that Tate has exploited with his personal growth schemes. Have you watched the film Magnolia? Tate is the Tom Cruise character. |

Why does it? It’s a great point to make
We want to all pretend these views are either rare, or easy to spot in men
But the truth is many guys hold these views and keep them secret because they know it’ll ruin their chances with women
The forum is a perfect example of these. Many guys hide behind a mask because they don’t want to get filtered out
And that’s important to know because they are the most dangerous, because women don’t know they hold these views until it’s too late.

I can see why it's true, I've been called everything from misogynistic to r*pe denier on these forums just for questioning things that don't ring true to me.
And just further, I'm damn sure it's not just men who hide their views on certain subjects. We see it across society as a whole, in fear of being called names. |

Right. So I haven’t defended him at all, aside to ask you when he was convicted of “beating up, strangling, and r@ping women”.
And you pointedly didn’t answer the question.

And you should try reading up on libel laws.
Ah but I didn’t say he did it. He certainly talks about it. And has been accused of it. But I didn’t say he did it. I was responding to why people look up to him and I actually said...
Dignity and self worth doesn’t involve beating up, strangling, and r@ping women. Tate is complete scum.

He appears to advocate it and that is very dangerous for all these impressionable minds out there.
I see.
So now he “talks about it”. And “appears to advocate it”.
Backsliding much….."
You understand how full stops work? No backsliding at all. A very deliberately worded first post. Tate is scum. See how the former sentence and later sentence are not the same? It is his views that seems to inspire some men. I would hope that if he was found to have done anything illegal that the support of these men would evaporate! |

"I’d never heard of him until he started being cancelled and was arrested.

I've st*len this from another poster on another thread. I think it's apt here...

I don’t fear the wolf I see. I fear the wolf in a sheepskin that I can’t see "
Scarily true. Good post.
I can see why it's true, I've been called everything from misogynistic to r*pe denier on these forums just for questioning things that don't ring true to me.
And just further, I'm damn sure it's not just men who hide their views on certain subjects. We see it across society as a whole, in fear of being called names."
Indeed. What I find interesting is what some posters reveal about themselves on the fab forums, but then wonder why folks may not want to meet them. |

I find the opposite interesting tbh. The fab forums are such a tiny snippet into people that they're nowhere near enough of a 'reveal' as to who they really are. |

Strokes and folks. Back when the Tate stuff all kicked off, there were a fair few single guys posting some “interesting” views. That acted as a good filter. Of course most people don’t post on forums and most who do avoid “political” topics. But not all. |

What interests me more is why young men seek solace in Tate’s work. Boys will be boys as it were and all the hectoring about toxic masculinity and white privilege isn’t going to change that.
Young men, and particularly young white working class men, find themselves vilified by societies that now only need them for cannon fodder when there is a war to be fought.
This may in part explain why military recruitment is in free fall in the UK and US. And why exactly should these boys volunteer to fight and die for societies that hate them? The problem is that nobody else is going to volunteer either. The West’s enemies no longer have anything to fear, as we have seen in Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya etc etc.

There are various police reports citing he has been violent with women, he claims that it was part of sex play……
You will say innocent until proven guilty… I would probably say not enough evidence to charge him… there is a difference!
So libel wouldn’t apply …
Anyway has been charged in Romania for sex trafficking and coercion…..so we shall see,
Although ironically one of the reasons he left the Uk for Romania is that Uk laws in his words are a lot tighter… |

It also, i suspect, reduces when there's a larger risk of deployment. Especially when they sell it as being a way of getting skills (rather than the blood and glory and patriotic side)
I would say that a lot of masculinity can appear to be positioned as bad when in fact it's the extremes of a given behaviour, or how it's shown. I can imagine the milatary gives amazing focus to masculine energies that can be over looked in the real world.
Lots of thoughts here, but will derail Tate thread.

The problem (and I am massively simplifying) is that what starts out with good and sensible and worthy intentions, ends up going too far or loses sight of common sense and gets tangled up as more and more issues get subsumed into it diluting the original premise.
For example, the basic fundamentals of being “woke” are perfectly fine and sensible. But in an effort to avoid insulting nobody, you end up with paralysis where everything is in danger of becoming seen as an insult (again I am massively simplifying).
Being physical, testosterone filled, appropriately aggressive (in relevant sports), driven etc are masculine traits. Hating on women and advocating physically hurting them or controlling them is not masculine. |

I'd also say the further you move away from those close to the core/original thesis, the more it's is diluted, missunderstood/missused/abused. And the more people stop thinking and start blindly following. Laziness is a core part. Which is why imo you loose credibility when talking about woke/racist/right wing/liberal left policiesa a homogeneous group rather than (a is often the case) policies I don't agre with.
It's also true with politics and religion (I suspect) as well as societal ideas. It's also why you get intragrouo fighting, which can be more vicious than inter group. |
