It is still early days but two countries Pakistan and Sri Lanka that have quite recently fallen more and more into Chinese Influence show signs of possible reapproachment with the USA
Along with Indias recent disputes with China and growing anger in Bhutan over the Chinese presence there
Also after calling for the winning of “hearts and minds” in Hong Kong and Taiwan China has followed these with aggressive shows of strength
Are we seeing perhaps the limitations of Chinas growing soft power?

Best thing to do....is not worry too much about it, and just watch it unfold. Although not on an overall scale the small details of the world tend to correct themselves if you give them patience. That is literally what a vast majority of our world leaders do |

The USA, for all its very many faults - past and present - is a preferable ally to China; by a long way.
That said, under Bush, Obama and Trump, the USA made several serious foreign policy errors which severely diminished its influence, worldwide.
Those errors are part of the reason that the Chinese (and even the Russians) have felt able to say to large parts of the developing world, "Look at the death and destruction the USA has brought to those just like you. Invest with us, instead."
Btw, the Chinese model actually IS an alternative to democracy - it's working.
It's just not an alternative I'd choose, or you would, or anyone who enjoys the benefits of living in a democracy; even a flawed one, like ours.
The best thing the world's second largest democracy can do is stop shooting itself in the foot. That's been hard for them to do, lately, because they are so divided at home. |

Is the constitution the supreme rule of the land? Yes it is no matter what the entire country thinks is right or wrong.That document and it's laws is what governs on a federal level.If a law is deemed unconstitutional it's up to individual states to decide not the majority. |

It is because you have a Christian Nationalist minority that has infiltrated the halls of power in multiple branches of government and are enacting law which goes against the will of the majority of people and is slowly stripping away their ability to do anything about it.

Yes its military is by far the biggest but it has barely won a conflict since WW2.
It is up to the European countries now to take up that mantle and lead the way against Russia and China also, China has spread her tentacles into so many areas of Africa in particular that it will influence her power around the world debating and trade tables. It is going to be an interesting and dangerous decade ahead. If only we had leaders who were not dangerously old,narcissists or in some cases just plain arseholes |
