I confess I almost joined the Tory party… not because I believed in their values but because the prospective councillor trying to recruit me was very very attractive…

I’m still young enough to not go so right wing but I’m curious as to how many on here are Tory voters…

There is no right or wrong and I will not tolerate any abuse of either side so feel free to indulge my curiosity…

For both parties I voted for who convinced me most at the time. I do not vote for the same party out of some sort of loyalty. I voted Tory at the last election but after the Boris antics I said as long as he was PM I would not even consider voting Tory again. Obviously things have changed now but still the new leader has an uphill challenge to get my vote again. At present Labour are not that convincing either though have improved a bit recently apart from the in fighting.

Do you belueve Labour is left wing?

I'm afraid the truth is that both parties are now centrist parties with little difference between them. The entire thrust of politics is to seize the centre ground of public opinion.

So it doesn't matter who you vote for, although I would say that liz truss is a clear and present danger to the British public and is completely unqualified to hold high office.

There is no Democracy in the UK, the whole thing is purely team sports and entertainment. The ruling elite just give you two options as to who is going to be their liason officer to the public ... Both are completely under the control of the deep state, Washington and the intelligence community.

Our leaders follow orders.if they don't they are quickly removed and replaced by someone who will. This is why Jeremy Corbyn never had a chance.

I see voting as the price of admission to being able to bitch about what the government does LOL

Also there is a difference, Labour at their worse will keep the status quo, whereas the Tories will actively make it worse for millions of the most marginalised.

“liz truss is a clear and present danger to the British public and is completely unqualified to hold high office” WOW for the first time I agree with you on something!

Oh and there is no way the current Tory party can be classed as centrist (I say this as an avowed centrist) as they have been pulled further and further to the right.

Haven't voted here yet. I don't like the conservatives. They are corrupt. But I would never vote for Labour until they kick out Naz Shah after the comments she made about r*pe victims. It's much better to live under a corrupt government rather than a government which expects r*pe victims to shut up.

as things stand, the extreme levels of conservative and unionist party corruption which we used to laugh at african nations being mired in through the 80's, means that it is impossible to vote for them.

that and the lack of faith that they hold in this country being successful in any way shape or form, which is proven by their refusal to invest our own money in, but would rather off-shore what they can and demand foreign actors do the investing, which only removes further huge sums of our cash overseas. it's an insult to everyone who lives in the UK.

that's up to them. the OP asked a question of individuals and I answered as such. I have spent my time insulating myself from the effects of conservative and unionist incompetence to the point that if things don't change very rapidly over the forseeable i will just do what i did during the shambles of the john major years, grab my passports and go to one of the other countries where i have made provision for myself over the last four decades.

When we look back over the last 30 years and all the different parties in and out of power and then look at our lives what real difference has any political power made to us.

Couple of quid here and there on national insurance and income tax, probably could afford an extra pint or two.

Any major difference to our financial, family and social lives has been determined by ourselves.

I vote each time, but has any of them really impacted our life, not really, so I'll keep on working hard and climbing the greasy ladder.

There is an element of this, some parties offer only incremental improvements. For example, I don't believe that Labour offer much of an improvement over the Tories at the moment.

But there are other factors, such as how the parties plan to tackle climate change, how corrupt they are (for example the Tories and their nepotism around the PPE contracts).

And, what difference will any party make to say climate change.

They bang on about this and that but very little gets done, more like fire fighting in more ways than one.

Most of us wouldn't consider turning the thermostat down a notch, fuck all to do with me gov.

I honestly believe most of them go into politics because they like the prestige and power, ok a few are very decent people but decent MPs generally stay on the back benches.

No, I still believe if you want to have a better life it's all down to making your own changes, worked for me/us.

Think Billy Connolly had it about right.

Anyone who wants to become a political should be immediately stopped from doing so.

Don't have a lot of time for many of them.

A few I have met are OK, one I was told to count my fingers after we had shook hands.
