So the dastardly plan for privatisation of the NHS.
Constant underfunding,red tape and bureaucracy, service's stretched to capacity.
Forcing people to beg and borrow money to get critical treatment from the private sector.

The problem is the NHS is a blank cheque waiting to happen. Name the number to correctly fund it? There isn't one.
Don't get me wrong I'm pro NHS and very Anti privatisation (in the American sense at least)

It needs a massive overhaul looking at every service within NHS and the charges for supplies and pharmaceuticals.
Pretty sure that everyone is quadrupling their fee's too the NHS.
Funnily enough the suppliers are buddies of those in Charge!!! |

I think to be fair the NHS does get cheap drugs compared to other countries as they are a mass buyer.
The NHS needs a clear out of the structure which is just a mess. Lots f money paid to people that if you actually sacked wouldn’t be missed . Sorry but it’s true.
I apologise to those who are invaluable and I am not referring to all in the NHS .
It has a lot of amazing people . My ire is directed at those running the show and the support network around them.

it's not joined up at all tho. Irrc each trust negotiates its own and the range they pay is nuts. The NHS is a badge more than a company (not an expert!) |

I never know if this is true or not but it seems to me that we have too many managers in this country who are paid far too much compared to how little or no personal risk they have to undertake and this just leads to a system that is stagnant. I know that the NHS is a huge business and that it requires many levels of management but there are people who are promoted because of time served rather than desire or ability for the role and that seems wasteful to me. Is there a better solution? Preferably one that isn’t driven by political agenda whenever the government change |

Good point about politics . That element should be of no interest.
Just get some experience turnaround guys. Support them with substantial clinical advice and reward them very well for results not time spent . |

the vast amount of outsourcing has decreased competiton and increased costs dramatically. the nhs purse is being drained by the cost of ensuring the private contractors involved in providing services are actually delivering those services. the contractors are constantly attempting to avoid scrutiny by making the legal costs involved prohibitively expensive. it is in many ways, very similar to the, until recently, conservative and unionist lead Barnet council's failed experiment of the 'easy council' model. which after 9 years, has ended with the complete collapse of services and without even the merest hint of the council having the ability to function at any level. the cost of repairing such damage increases day by day. |
