Johnson didn't resign as PM

He literally didn't. He never said he was resigning. He's actually made it clear he's sticking around.

He's clinging onto power. Still. He's even appointed a new cabinet.

These are not the actions of a man who is planning on leaving any time soon.

Was on the news that if an mp resigns, they get severance pay of 400,000 most likely they were resigning in droves the bastards.

I think even now Johnson is hoping something will happen to save his bacon. Or he's hoping he can manufacture something to save himself. If he just delays for long enough...

Listened to his speech again. He didn't say he was resigning. He accepted no blame. He didn't say he'd done anything wrong. He talked himself up a lot. He blamed others for forcing him out. And tried to appeal to voters.

Sounded a lot like he wants to get re-elected.

You're absolutely right, I had to re-read numerous times.

He's stepping down as the leader of the Conservative Party and caretaking his post until a replacement is found.

So, no, he hasn't or didn't resign as PM.

Cummings was right today, evict him now before he sets the house on fire.

There is no way back for him, he is just a puppet PM, he can’t do anything but it would be hilarious to see him try

If he sees any way to do it, I think he will try. He truly seems deluded when it comes to himself. He thinks, even now, he can get away with anything.

He hopes something, anything, will pop up. And he hopes he can bulldoze his way on somehow after the news cycle changes.

+ every day he remains in power, there are more opportunities for him to fuck up this country a bit more. He has to go now.

I can’t see it, he won’t be allowed to make any big decisions but I agree he needs to go asap

I hope I'm wrong. But I've seen the way he operates too many times by now. I'm certain he still thinks he can get out of this. And I'm certain there is nothing he would not do if he thinks it might benefit him.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

"Was on the news that if an mp resigns, they get severance pay of 400,000 most likely they were resigning in droves the bastards. "

That wasn't each! That was the total severence pay for all the resignees (at that point), and a couple had already said they'd donate to charity, which will almost certainly shame the vast majority of the others to follow suit.

True, but he has no real power now,

The cabinet and MPs know this so there will be less or no sycophantic behaviour towards him, I think a few of them will enjoy telling him to fuck off if he tries anything

Newcastle

He's going their isn't many left who would support him so a majority vote would kick him out this would be embarrassing to see the figures

Ousting a leader is about momentum. They think they've done it, so that momentum is now gone. They seem to be slowly drifting back into his orbit already.

We'll see. I hope they shut him out of all power or kick him out fully. But I don't think they will now.

I'll be v happy to be proved wrong on all this.
