Getting him in jail is likely the best method of getting a reality check to many on the right.
He will always have his diehards, who won't change their mind.
But without him in jail there's no reason for the bulk of the GOP to worry about pleasing him. And maybe they will return to the party of old.
Of course this is all rubbish cos I cannot possibly know anything on the topic because I am not American.

I haven't once attacked you. I have argued against your right wing view points. I speak daily to friends and family (spanning 24 states), and I enjoy talking politics.
But sure I know Nothing about it.
I stated my opinion on this topic, you then attacked me and my opinion. I defended myself.

idk that is the quagmire we are in. We have a house in Florida and here and driving down it's a realistic view more trump 2024 flags than any candidate. On houses and vehicles . The population of USA = 330 million. And 74 million voted for him last time. Half that would be 37. + nowhere near that many would actually do anything if Trump was jailed beyond screaming about it online. A few nutters would act, but that's no reason not to jail Trump. |

Hear is a thought the majority of trump supporters look at these hearings as a setup.No defense or rebuttals just straight up one sided. Take that into consideration. It's a major talking point. Democrats would have to a better chance convincing if both parties held him accountable. Offer a olive branch to prove otherwise instead of indictments in the public eye. |

The Republicans as a group as have shown no interest in holding Trump accountable for his actions. I don't see that changing any time soon.
They really need to hold him to account though. As I said already, why should any future wannabe dictator worry about trying a coup? As things stand, there seems to be no negative consequence to attempting a coup in the USA. |

Just a look at history shows you how true this is, the last time a political leader in an industrialised nation attempted a coup and got let off easy to placate his supporters, he came back a few years later, used his charm to get back in office and proceeded to start world war 2.

Yeah I saw that. They didn't even show any commercials on day 1 of the hearings because they didn't wanna risk their viewers turning over during the commercials and stumbling upon reality. |

I agree but clearly a lot of people are just switching the channel because if this administration approach to everything. Nothing says switch sides more than when your finances are in peril. People remember Trump's low costs of everything. It's the demon of politics money and your personal standard of living. |
