Sounds like an utterly terrible idea. Apart from a few correct calls that every other politician would have made he has done terribly. He's an embarrassment and untrustworthy. His entire political project is to turn the UK into a place where him billionaire chums can exploit workers easier. Boris in office until 2030 would be a disaster for the 99%. |

Boris in office after the next election would be a disaster. |

"

It might be a disaster for the Tories if he's in office for the next one..
Or the majority of Tory MPs are so desperate to hang on to their seats they stick with him regardless..

Cannot disagree on either point. |

He's either actually making a feeble attempt at humour; or he's delusional enough to mean it - and he's clearly capable of that level of self deception.
It sounds a bit "Thousand Year Reich". Well, the pound shop version, anyway.
Not nearly as catastrophic - but still a narcissist who believes rules do not apply to him, surrounded by sycophantic, spineless wretches who owe their fortunes to their leader and are happy to enable him - no matter how the majority of the people of their country suffer. |

" TBF he can't say I'm not thinking about it, as that makes him a sitting dick (I'm not gonna correct that Freudian misstype)
And he probably is thinking about it

The problem we have in the USA and UK - and maybe in India, too - is that our liberal democracies have become so divided that the parties of the ruling elites, who want to protect their wealth and power at the expense of the "little people", think they are the only ones fit to govern.
They think they should win every election - in which case, why bother with democracy?
They actually argue the case that a single party dictatorship is ok - as long as the people vote for it.
That merely gives it legitimacy - it doesn't mean it's a good idea; any more than it is in Russia or China.
And if you don't think we could descend to their level - think again.
Democracy is a new thing - particularly for women - and it's fragile; especially where it isn't truly representative, like in the UK. 80 seat majority from 43% of the vote? Democracy?
The real dictators are sitting back, watching us trashing our values every day and they're - quite understandably - mocking our hypocrisy. |
