BBC news this morning and the health minister promises record investment figures over the next three years to support the NHS and reduce the backlog.
The cynical among us would perhaps suggest that these same figures (or more) have been promised many times yet never been delivered.
Is this just regurgitating previous promises to take the focus away from something else or have all those promises we have heard again and again over the past few years been fulfilled? |

Last time I checked, it was a wildly misleading claim by Johnson at best. At worst, just another of his lies.
Most of the so-called new hospitals were just gonna be refurbs of existing hospitals.

Having worked in a past life for a large construction company...hospitals are usually built in under two years... |

Talking the focus away, plus inflation and... Where is it spent? frontline staff? Or will it go straight into the pockets of pruvate contractor fat cats.

Agreed, without staff hospitals useless. The training needs revamping, basic nursing and compassion doesn't need to be recognised as degree level or taught at university. Nursing associate is a good idea, but there should more associates than degree qualified nurses. All nursing and medical courses need to include leadership as this seems to be the most lacking skill on wards I have been unlucky to be on myself and when family members have had to spend time on a ward.
