She lost her appeal but had her sentence reduced.
Because the custodial part of her sentence was removed, then she isn't now subject to "recall".
The Parliamentary Standards Committee may impose further sanctions on her, and should this be 10 days or more exclusion from Parliament, then that could trigger "recall".
She lost the Labour whip many months ago, and stands as an Independent. |

Convicted, guilty, failed appeal - and is still sitting as an MP.
Under different colours I have no doubt the board would be on fire!
In fact it was not that long ago the drums of war and demands for resignation were sounding over an unfortunate tractor video link
Moral compass ? Way off
Hypocrisy? Bucket loads
Or do we accept it because…”cake, curry, beer and wine”?

Of course, threatening to acid someone, no worries. Walking into a surprise party a crime worse than murder. Thankfully people off Fab are a lot more sensible about these things. |

"Talking of resignations, when will she step down as an MP ? Lost her appeal today and no longer Labour. Seems like a wrong un."
No one cares, don’t you know there is a war on |

She should be removed, but she won’t resign, the vast majority don’t care, silent majority, war on, getting on with the job, etc etc |

"She should be jailed and never allowed to stand for any public position. Utter scum. "
She has apologised
She didn’t know she was breaking the law
It only happened once
All MPs are the same
There is a war on
Cost of living crisis
More important things to worry about
Getting on with the job
Time to move on (apparently) |

Hadn’t bothered replying because it is obvious to anyone with any moral compass that she did wrong and should not be allowed to be an MP. She should resign or be banned. Simple. Obvious!
However, the normalisation of shit behaviour by politicians led by this Government means the grey area (pun intended) is ever larger making it ever harder to determine what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour for our public “servants”. |

" my excuse. I didn't link the name with the story. I would have looked at "acid attack MP". I couldn't tell you the name or the tractor MP, the sexual assualt MP nor the MP who said the courts got it wrong
Terrible behaviour. She should resign but that's up to her constituents if I understand it correctly. I'm glad labour removed the whip. I'm hoping they didn't have an inkling of her character when they let her run. I'm glad no one has sought to defend her afaik We need to stand up to all forms of harrasment and bullying. MPs, as public servants, should lead the way, not be dragged into behaving.
All of the above stands for all parties.
