"Reverse the cuts to benefits that they did recently.
Think it was universal credit?
In theses times where families are struggling it seems very mean. "
It wasn't a cut. It was the removal of an increase that was put in place to help people during the worst of the covid pandemic.
I would have no problem seeing it put back in place temporarily to help struggling families during the current cost of living crisis but people would need to understand that it would only be a temporary measure again. |

Ban second jobs for MP's and stop corporate donations to parties.
Would be interesting to see how many still wanted the job given the reduced income and inability to pass legislation just for the benefit of their mates.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
Overhaul of MP expenses.
Including...
The taxpayer will fund the cost of buying a property in Central London for non-london constituencies, BUT, the taxpayer will therefore own it. When the MP is no longer an MP, the property reverts to the state, and can either be used by a new MP, or sold on into the market. |

"Maybe a law where the government is held to account for breaking the rules they set. Crazy but it might just work."
And the bodies that hold the government to account are protected from government interference |

Most violent crimes are committed by small number of repeat offenders, overwhelmingly younger men. Minimum 10 year sentence for anyone who commits three violent offences, no early release but good education and training while inside. |

Improve our democratic process. Probably by having less of them, that are more capable and having a hierarchy... Say regional... Who can then recruit the best and most suitable rather than the one that isn't Labour / Tory. The current process has not served us well for 20 or 30 years. |

Look I know the current government has run out of ideas, but coming to a swinging site to get new policies ideas for the 2024 manifesto isn’t going to happen. |

Toss up between doing something about government nepotism. Using billions of £ of public money to make their mates rich during the pandemic was awful.
Or.
Transitioning the UK energy sector to renewal. Energy independence, less costs to the tax payer, and cleaner for the environment. Win/win/win except for the profits in the fossil fuels industry. |

As there have been 36 Homicide victims in London alone so far this year, it is time to bring back the death sentence to convicted murderers.
20 years for carrying a firearm and 10 years for carrying a knife.
And as suggested above a 3 strike rule but for me it would be a life sentence with no chance of parole. |

Genuine question . How many were domestic murders as in family of friends? |

Lots of good ones on here but if we can have only one I will go for proportional representation |

Did the death penalty, stop murders happening in the past. Do they currently stop murders happening in the USA.
How many murders are caused by people fuelled on drugs or alcohol in confrontations that escalated. These people won't stop to think consequences. |

"Is PR starting to get general support ? And I mean with people you know not just on us weirdos on fab. "
I find it interesting and although it has concerns I think probably better than what we have. I think there could be some interesting results and of course more representative. The only time I recall watching results from a PR election was the last Euro elections we were involved with. It was good seeing how the seats were dished out though of course farage won many of them. |

Thing is... It doesn't really matter what process is used if the quality of the candidates is as poor as it is at the moment.... And equally you could have the best and drop them into the system we have and they would turn into monsters in a term.
We need proper reform of our political system and government |

I agree the quality is poor and you won’t fix that overnight but it would be a huge uplift in integrity if it were to truly reflect the peoples wishes. How can the majority of the population not vote for Boris and yet have z as bdimuteky no voice?
Local MPs fir locals would also improve integrity over yes men and women. |

Not so much as a policy change but I would love to see the power of the whip removed from uk politics and to allow individual MP's to vote what is best for their constituents and not face consequences for doing so. |

Proportional Representation
Coalition Governments Mandatory so no one party holds a monopoly on power or their own policies.
Mandatory voting.
No second jobs for MP's. Cannot employ family.
Fixed Salary for MP's.
Expenses must be frugal and minimal
Removal of Whips, to allow every MP free voting whenever they decide. MP's serve the People, not the Party. Coercing people to vote the way you want them to is not democratic, it is tyrannical and oppressive.
All political decision must be recorded and available to the general public for review, or a select cross-party committee if matters of national security are discussed. Where an agenda has been "bumped across the security line" to avoid public scrutiny, it will be vetted and if obfuscation is discovered and the item is not related to national security, it will be made public and the MP fined for obfuscation.
Any criminal activity by an MP resulting in ANY police conviction will immediately terminate employment. MP's make and pass laws the rest of us have to follow, and thus they need to be above reproach and arbiters of moral upstanding. If they cannot maintain this, they are not fit for the role.
A 1% Income Tax rise, of which monies raised are ring-fenced for investing in green/alternative national power projects, eg, giant solar /wind/hydro schemes.
