So here it is.

Our time to shine, and it’s our choice.

You can vote for a morally corrupt Conservative party and Leader, who have lied, cheated, and have utilised every underhanded and deceitful method to rob us, the British people of our dignity, our rights, our money, and our lives. Who have one rule for us and another rule for them.

Or you can vote for another path, to bring back competence, prosperity and save our nation now.

Are we brave enough to vote against the tyranny of the tories? and save our future?

It’s up to you.

Yeah but just remember that Labour is led by someone who bought a field so his Mum could open a donkey sanctuary - the bastard!

Oh and he had beer and pizza after work at his desk and despite Durham Police finding nothing wrong in that, he still did it - the bastard!

Oh and he is a bit posh (despite growing up in a semi), so even though he is not as posh as the other fella, he isn’t like us (irony) - the bastard!

The lovely irony of Tories “local Conservatives” campaign to distance themselves from the national govt in order to win the local elections is that it’s a nationally run campaign ha ha ha!

In other words Conservative HQ is telling local associations to pretend they’re independent!!!!! They’re even embarrassed of themselves!

"The majority of local elections today, are in traditional Labour areas."

So there will be false hope for positive change, and then back to the same shit at the GE.

I often wonder how much corruption, nepotism, sleaze, lies, self serving behaviour etc it would take to make Conservative voters think twice.

Today people are voting for their local councils and what they feel best local to them.

You can vote Conservative for lower council taxes like in Westminster or vote Labour and see your council go bankcrpt like they did in Croydon.

And if you are in London don't forget that under a Labour mayor Crossrail is to open 4 years late and £4 Billion over budget.

No matter how the left try to make excuses ultimately Khan has been in charge and the finger points at his bad management.

La la la it was the bad little man who done it la la la

What utter tripe! If you took any time to look at the complexities of building cross rail ( an architect I know spent years working on it ) you might just might get a tiny inkling of how hard it is to build something like this where the tunnels are literally within 0.5 metres and less of existing transport, sewers, other infrastructure, not to mention the huge mass of buildings above parts of it and much of London is a clay soil so maybe it’s astonishing that they got there at all?

Crossrail was in the design phase since the 90's. How do I know? Because I worked in the same building. Plenty of time to do the design so no excuses there.

As for being close to other infrastructure this is nothing new because resent tunnel projects like DLR and Jubilee extensions means they actually knew what they were doing.

Complex yes, impossible no.

Delayed due to incompetent management yes.

Being English in Scotland I was amused to watch the recent SNP local elections party political broadcast.

Nothing about roads, housing, planning, schools, social services, care homes, fire services, libraries etc. The things local authorities deal with. Just the same turgid rubbish about how badly Westminister is treating Scotland and how independence will bring a land of milk and honey.

I wish just once politicians would speak about what is relevant.

We live in Croydon and I have done all my life and the boroughs flip flops between the two main parties and it’s always the same story

Utter chaos when labour in charge and then some semblance of order under the tories.

Just wish there was a viable alternative but there isn’t.

The labour run councils in this country charge on average £300 less than conservative councils .

So you didn’t answer my question?

Let’s be honest here (regardless of tribalist loyalties) having beer and pizza at your desk after a day’s work may possibly have broken the rules (Durham Police say no), but that is not remotely in the same league as repeated, proper parties in No10 with flowing booze (suitcase full), DJ decks, broken child’s swing etc etc.

In law repeatedly offending attracts progressively harsher penalties.

To put a bit of balance in.

The PM has (so far) received ONE fpn for being in the cabinet room just before a meeting when other people came in the wish him happy birthday.

He was actually at his place of work and also lives in part of the building.

SKS was in someone else's office with up to 30 people drinking beer and self serving a curry. Self serving was against the covid rules at that time and socialising with people outside of you bubble or household was against the rule as well.

We only know about the one FPN because the Met have decided not to release any more information (in part due to local election purdah).

SKS was eating a pizza not a curry? Unless you are referencing the picture Nadine Dorries shared of SKS eating a curry, with Frank Dobson who died before Covid?

isn't the balance :

Boris has been found to have broken the (his) law. While also thinking he hadn't.

SKS hasn't been found to have broken the law. Even tho Durham police have looked into it.

The rest is spin. We don't actually know what happened with Boris. If you can break the law because others hijack you, that feels like a poor law!

And as it stands, SKS was working, not socialising. Interesting you think he was self serving curry. Maybe that was the Nadine tweet?

Or are you thinking of Durham Tory MP Richard Holden who had a curry in Kent with the Gurkas at a similar time (apparently).

"Yeah but just remember that Labour is led by someone who bought a field so his Mum could open a donkey sanctuary - the bastard!

Oh and he is a bit dull - the bastard!

If that is Sir Kier's CV i don't see any thing that qualifies him as a PM, Also sounds like Elsie not so needy as described also a Labour activist, And Rayner ignoring questions on beer gate this morning. Beer gate not over by a long way yet.

Beer gate is finished, move on , don’t you know there is a war on

Want to bet on that if im wrong ill pay your gold site support if i win you pay mine

Is beergate as serious as partygate? Are they directly comparable and proportionate?

Right is right wrong is wrong what ever the name tag, lets see the out come.

To put a bit of balance in...

We only know about the one FPN because the Met have decided not to release any more information (in part due to local election purdah).

SKS was eating a pizza not a curry? Unless you are referencing the picture Nadine Dorries shared of SKS eating a curry, with Frank Dobson who died before Covid?"

Pizza from an Indian take away unlikely so in that case then must have had a pizza delivery as well then, that what you saying ?

Sinn fein about to become largest party in NI according to all polls.

All polls have them as a shoo in in next election down south too, they would be already in power last election if they had of just fielded enough candidates.

We live in interesting times

So there will be false hope for positive change, and then back to the same shit at the GE.

I often wonder how much corruption, nepotism, sleaze, lies, self serving behaviour etc it would take to make Conservative voters think twice. "

You’ve lost me! Last thing I read was that SKS and gang had beer and pizza at desk at work in constituency office. Durham Police investigated and found no rules had been broken.

Now it is possible that one or more of the team ordered a curry. I don’t know. But the additional confusion here is that Dorries retweeted a doctored pic of SKS eating a curry claiming this was during lockdown. It wasn’t. The undoctored pic had Frank Dobson in it. He died before Covid.

So did they have curry or pizza ???? see nothing adds up does it.

That’s what I am referencing. What are you referencing?

Over £200 of curry received on the night in Durham, nothing to do with Dorries claims

And...? How many people working in that constituency office? Maybe some had curry but others had pizza? What is your point? Durham Police were satisfied no rules broken or is eating curry more rule breaking than pizza?"

merseyside

I'm voting for the local lady who has actually knocked at our door and introduced herself well before any election.

She also sorted out a new street light and cut back some trees.

She does her job as a local councillor, what flavour she is, we find somewhat unimportant, she does what she said she would do, represent our ward and sort out local problems and doesn't slag off other parties, her work speaks for itself.

Good on her.

"Yeah but just remember that Labour is led by someone who bought a field so his Mum could open a donkey sanctuary - the bastard!

To put a bit of balance in...

We only know about the one FPN because the Met have decided not to release any more information (in part due to local election purdah).

SKS was eating a pizza not a curry? Unless you are referencing the picture Nadine Dorries shared of SKS eating a curry, with Frank Dobson who died before Covid?

Pizza from an Indian take away unlikely so in that case then must have had a pizza delivery as well then, that what you saying ?

I will admit I took pizza as being a fact. Now I'm not sure.

That said, it does sound like it may have been "help yourself" which is naughty.

After reading this very long thread, I think I could put up a reasonable argument for Starmer, not sure why he can't do that himself?

Using only the numbers provided here, 30 people and £200 spent on Indian food. He could argue that there was enough food for individual choice and not a buffet, after all 30 people are not going to all like the same thing.

Double dipping was expressly forbidden as was sharing. He needed to feed the workforce during a long day, he washed it down with beer from the restaurant. We all know a bottle of beer goes with curry like coffee and cream, salt & pepper, gin & tonic.

Would this be enough for people to drop it? He does need to get a back bone...

"Yeah but just remember that Labour is led by someone who bought a field so his Mum could open a donkey sanctuary - the bastard!

That people need to get their facts straight before posting. It is just embarrassing!

And what are YOU on about? The curry picture was before covid!

So did they have curry or pizza ???? see nothing adds up does it.

That’s what I am referencing. What are you referencing?

Over £200 of curry received on the night in Durham, nothing to do with Dorries claims

And...? How many people working in that constituency office? Maybe some had curry but others had pizza? What is your point? Durham Police were satisfied no rules broken or is eating curry more rule breaking than pizza?

You really are not up to speed on this story are you

"Pressure rises for Durham police to probe Sir Keir's curry night after Labour leader CHANGES his story to describe a buffet feast with colleagues... despite them being BANNED at the time"fun game. What is the earliest news reference to pizza. Having looked at some Jan reports it mentions beers and takeaways.

course it isn't enough. This is about the act itself but distracting from HMG.

Does it matter if it was curry or pizza ? No. Does it matter if his second in command was there? No. The tabloids will still go hunting. Any angle for any headline. Anything to make you think "they are all as bad as each other".

Desperation.

At worst SKS is found to have broken the rules once. And I suspect the level to which they were broken will be marginal from what has been said on here.

It doesn’t compare to multiple infringements of a more obvious nature.

It really is that simple.

Kier had a beer, Boris partied (more than once).

Lemme get this straight. Starmer had a beer. Cops investigated at the time + said there wasa no problem.

On the other side, Johnson presided over party central for months. He then lied about it all for months. The met refused to look into it for ages because there wasn't enough evidence. And because the met don't look into things that happened in the past. When the met were getting sued ( or about to be sued) they finally looked into Partygate. (Just in time to bury the Sue Grey report that was apparently gonna be damning.) They finally said Johnson broke the law. + a bunch of others at No 10 + D street. And more fines + accounts of lawbreaking will be incoming. (But only after th election because we can't have voters having the facts before voting.) + the Sue grey report will maybe possibly someday be released.

And that's all equivalent to Starmer's beer? Right you are then...

You're either incredibly naive or you're being disingenuous.

There were many, many, many parties under Johnson. Many, many lies. The Tories are desperately trying to convince the gullible that Starmer having a beer on an occasion that was already investigated is the same thing. "So here it is.

"

This kind of means I will probably seek out an independent candidate as I can't vote conservative for the reasons you list and can't vote either Labour or lib dems as they are currently in coalition in my area and not doing a very good job. So the 3 main parties are ruled out in my opinion.

"Lemme get this straight.

Right you are then...So you keep saying but as of today boris has been fined along with rishi (who just happened to turn up for the meeting early) a song a birthday cake neither which i would think was instigated by boris( even he is not that vain).Yet SKS is video,d drinking beer with which turns out about 30 others then you have rayner who wasnt there and is now there ( only guessing but maybe the hoky coky was going on ) and you dont think they both warrent the same scrutiny?

You're either incredibly naive or you're being disingenuous.

There were many, many, many parties under Johnson. Many, many lies. The Tories are desperately trying to convince the gullible that Starmer having a beer on an occasion that was already investigated is the same thing. Because the Tories fully expect to get a kicking in the local elections over Partygate. As i said as of now just one, answer my question should starmer undergo the same scrutiny or is he above that in your view? its not hard yes or no will do.

He already was investigated over this ages ago. the cops said he did nothing wrong. I did say that earlier.

Can you really not see this whole beergate story is a desperate attempt by Johnson to distract from his own wrongdoing, lying and lawbreaking? At exactly the time when Johnson wants people talking about beergate rather than partygate.Apparently not with the same scrutiny the people who video,d it were not even interviewed i doubt the curry house was as its only come to light lately and as rayner was not there but really was i doubt if they spoke to her.So again do you believe they should both have the same scrutiny yes or no?"

Sure thing. That means the cops will say they can't investigate Starmer as there isn't enough evidence. Then they'll say they can't investigate something that happened in the past. Then Starmer will get to pick a civil servant who works for him to investigate the situation. That'd literally be the same as what went on with Johnson.

Your desperation is palpable! Are you saying Durham Police are no good? That Durham Police didn’t do a proper job? Are you saying the Met did or didn’t do a proper job? It’s all so confusing. Which police force did a better job of scrutiny? Why is that the case in your opinion? Do you have first hand experience of police investigations?

Not confusing at all unless you want it to be people who were not there but now were have not been interviewed obviously and so a proper investigation has not occurred.

Durham Constabulary are ineffective

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-tees-57233796

Suitably supported by the apathetic PCC Joy Allen. Her response to the above case was horrific.

The very same Joy Allen who herself broke lockdown rules on a number of occasions and then was “involved” with the investigation of the Durham Miners Hall event.

Oh and the food from the restaurant in question is very nice, and great value - 200 quid to cover 30+ people - sounds about right!

Well yes actually, after SKS holier than thou speech about honesty ,integrity and a man of honour would resign in that pathetic voice he put on i would expect him to resign if he is true to his word.We already know boris doesnt think its a resigning offence as he is still there.SKS painted himself into a corner with that speech even though Lisa Nandy told him to drop it weeks before.

Personally i lost all interest in partygate a few days after it was reported and would have whomever it was about.I actually feel a bit sorry for you buying the line its mud slinging because of the elections when thats exactly what SKS has been doing for the last few months instead of concentrating on the things that really matter. He has shown himself to have no answer for anything and his only way of getting anywhere is to drip feed partygate as i said before even Lisa Nandy told him to drop it weeks ago as he was sounding like a broken record.

"Lemme get this straight.

Let's play this out. Say there is another investigation that says Starmer had a beer wrongly + he gets a fine. Set that against shitloads of parties + fines at Downing Street, presided over by the guy (Johnson) who introduced the Covid laws + said we all had to follow them. Do you really not see there is a vast difference of scale + hypocrisy there?Well yes actually, after SKS holier than thou speech about honesty ,integrity and a man of honour would resign in that pathetic voice he put on i would expect him to resign if he is true to his word.We already know boris doesnt think its a resigning offence as he is still there.SKS painted himself into a corner with that speech even though Lisa Nandy told him to drop it weeks before.

I actually pity you. You've been so indoctrinated that you can't see Johnson is taking you for a fool.No mate not at all and i dont need your pity.

As I said, I pity you. Our lying, lawbreaking leader has convinced you it's no big deal he lied, broke the law and treated us all with contempt while we couldn't even say farewell to loved ones when they died. You're even smiling over this. Look at what Johnson has done to you...No one has convinced me i make my own mind up on all matters in my life.

If you choose to smile over the deaths and last moments of so many being taken so lightly, that's even worse.Do me a favour mate you are scr&ping the bottom of the barrel now.

1 of my closest friends died with Covid. I had to do his funeral via zoom. I couldn't be there to hug his widow. Strangely enough, I'm not laughing about all this...yet you accuse me of laughing

You really do love ignoring reality. Just look above at all the laughing emojis you postedyou really dont understand im laughing at YOU and the same old rhetoric that starmer has been churning out and you accuse me of being taken in. "

"Lemme get this straight.

Right you are then...So you keep saying but as of today boris has been fined along with rishi (who just happened to turn up for the meeting early) a song a birthday cake neither which i would think was instigated by boris( even he is not that vain).Yet SKS is video,d drinking beer with which turns out about 30 others then you have rayner who wasnt there and is now there ( only guessing but maybe the hoky coky was going on ) and you dont think they both warrent the same scrutiny?

Wow. This will be interesting. I'm uncomfortable that this decision has been made. But there you go.

I also wonder if the police should look at the Holden curry. Or is investigations of one off events only for leaders ?

This will naan.

Reading your posts, I'm not sure what your driving force is, but it isn't healthy in my opinion.

I'm going to say something that I think will blow your mind.

I don't care about partygate or beergate.

Thousands of people across the UK did exactly the same, and many not even in a work environment. Those thousands of people are exactly the same as these politicians, yet they hide behind statements such as, "they should know better", "but they are running the country", They made the rules and broke them and they are all hypocrite's. Guess what so are all the people who met in gardens, in work, on beaches, in the country side and so on. Everyone of them is exactly the same. You can decide to get over it and stop letting the media dictate your frustrations, or you can continue getting excited about work colleagues having something to eat and drink after work. Good luck with your choice

Good luck with your choice "

tbh it's not the one off rule break that frustrated me. It was the seemingly culture of breaking the rules. And then denying it.

If I break the speed limit, I'm a dick. If I campaign to have a speed limit, preach to ppl how important it is to obey the speed limit, and then consistently speed myself because I feel the speed limit is dumb or doesn't apply to me, I'm a bigger dick.

I want my law setters to set good laws. I want people in positions of authority to be trustworthy. It's more than hypocrisy.

In the same way, I'm okay with a shopkeeper having a pint at lunchtime, I'd not want a surgeon to. What "all the people" are doing isn't what's important.

If he gets a fine he has to resign, and he will the get out will be he hasn't misled the house. It's not the fine that's a resigning matter, but saying no rules were broken. Minesterial code and all that.

Maybe, I still think he will have to go, and Rayner if she is fined, if they don’t I won’t be voting Labour (although I did vote Lib Dems in 2019 and last night) in

I'm genuinely surprised you feel that strongly.

I do, you can’t berate the Tories for weeks then get caught doing the same, you lose all credibility. I like to think SKS is a decent honourable man so I expect him to resign if he is fined "

I'm not a Labour voter, but I can see SKS is probably the best fit to lead the party. I honestly believe the media have created a frenzy that seems to be fuelled by, in my opinion, pure emotion and nothing of significance.

Hopefully that is the case, the Tories are on the ropes but I just can’t see how he will have any credibility if he gets fined, for the good of the party I think he will go

for me, that shouldnt. The culture in Number 10, and the statements after, should.

That said, if KSK were found to have misled the police, that's a different matter. It will be interesting to see if they change their decision and why ...

the claim is that the curry was legit as he worked after.

If no work was done, then it more clearly fell outside the rules.

Now whether it was a big deal is a different question. But step one is show he broke the rules.

(The hidden implication of those saying he didn't work because tej curry was at 10 is that they wouldnt have worked after the curry. Now that is probably true for the man in the street. It's a slightly odd position from thsie saying they were working all hours through a once in a life time crisis)

If SKS broke the rules he should be fined like everyone else.

If he lied about it, he should resign.

It still doesn’t in any way excuse what Johnson and staff at No10 did repeatedly for months. There simply is no comparison in quantity or severity of the law/rule breaking AND being an opposition leader is not the same as being THE prime minister, ie the ultimate power in the land who the buck is supposed to stop with. He ultimately makes the laws/rules and he more than anyone in the country should understand and abide by them. It is simply inarguable.

Johnson should resign. He won’t. SKS...well let’s see! If he is fined and if be doesn’t them resign, he is a hypocrite.

Personally prefer Yvette Cooper anyway lol

that's easy. Thso circus distracts from the number 10 circus. Or at least allows ppl to say they are all clowns so i can vote for a Tory clown and not feel bad. Imo the Tories know ppl will vote for them if you give them a reason to not feel as bad. It's like someone who wants to sleep with you convincing you yr OH is cheating. You wont be cheating... Newcastle and Gateshead

Tories have an southern problem… getting crushed in longer by labour.. and getting crushed in the south west by the Lib Dems

Labour have a northern problem… slowly getting better post corbyn, but not enough to turn the tide

If the Lib Dems can make themselves a viable alternative vote without going pro European gun ho you could absolutely see it being a hung parliament

"If SKS broke the rules he should be fined like everyone else.

Personally prefer Yvette Cooper anyway lol"

All politicians are hypocrite's, they must be or they couldn't be a politician, let alone to be human. Probably for another post

Just a thought… this is the same Durham constabulary that said Dominic Cummings trip around Durham and Barnard castle *ahem* testing his eyesight was okay… so what do we know

Anyway apparently the Durham plod had already looked at it.. said nothing wrong, but are now being leaned on by local Tory mps to “have another look!”

So if SKS gets one… does it even up with bojo getting 3 or 4???? Is that what we are reaching for now???

It would appear that the Conservative party is getting seriously slapped.

Johnson will not leave in the hope of something happening between now and the election. Tory MPs will not do anything because there is no credible alternative as Johnson's crew have targeted Rishi Sunak.

They will be answerable to their electorate for that.

So, for those who are not supporters of the Tory party or Johnson he needs to stay in power, but what damage to the country in the meantime?

Only on the camera, in reality they haven't gained that much for a mid term election.I doubt if they will make a pact with the lib/dems again after their gains.Ooops sorry there was no pact.

Let’s see what the outcome is on the Labour Party front ( during lockdown), he was baying for Boris to stand down , so is he going to stand down himself?

If he gets fined, definitely and rightly so,

Tories have the majority in my area, as I suspected, kicking back at the SNP. Biggest upset has been the Councillor that defected from SNP to Alex Salmonds Alba party. 38 years in the town as local Councillor and as soon as he changes party he's voted out.

This is the power of voting, this is democracy,

Tories know what they have to do now, I don't think how much gloss they put on this, it was pretty damning.

Boris is a political liability, because if they go into the Next GE with him at the helm, its going to cost them their majority and then some.

His ship is sinking and he is taking his party with him.

It is democracy at work

People showing their displeasure mid term, nothing new there but when it comes to the countries real issues they revert back to those they trust the most.

That is exactly the point. The electorate will vote for who they trust.

The Conservative party have frequently been out of power and many times when they were far more competent than now...

100%

The Tory propaganda machine is all powerful, there's no way they will allow people to vote them out of power.

No alternative there is one i predict, and its a female that already made Rayner look very silly in the HOC

"Penny Mordaunt tore her claims of cronyism to shreds. In a four-minute-long response, Mordaunt addressed each of Rayner’s allegations, concluding with a damning fact"

Don't take your eye of the ball things change fast.
