This transcends politics. It is about mysogeny. Reports that a Tory MP leaked the story to the Daily Mail. Howls of protest about mysogeny.

But wait. What would it be called if it was leaked by a female Tory MP? And we don't know if it was a male or female MP

Is it only misogyny if a man says it?

Every day is a school day.

What other reason could a woman possibly have for crossing her legs, other than it being for the sexual pleasure of men?

This has to have started in Johnson mind.

Knowing him he was distracted by her legs, through no fault of Angela Radnor

Obviously he said something to someone who leaked it,how else would anyone know he was being distracted?

He's a slimeball don't forget

This news piece simply covers up the real story from the weekend that three cabinet ministers are among more than 50 MPs reportedly facing allegations of sexual misconduct after being referred to a parliamentary watchdog.

I think sone are bullying not all sexual but the ridiculously high number if allegations reflects on the type of person being recruited into Parliament.

Shallow self centred bullies who belief in their superior status exposes their true ignorance of the importance and standards the role should demand.

An MP must be a humble servant as well as a fighter for the people of this country.

Caterer politicians appear to be the lowest of the low. Then again we deserve who we vote for. Our apathy on how our democracy has been high jacked has lead us to this point.

I'm still of the opinion that this was just made up from nothing at the Sunday Mail newsdesk. It's the sort of story that their readers will love, and it creates controversy which will drive more eyes to the Mail Online.

If they are making up quotes from MPs then this should be cracked down ASAP.

there is something rotten in our parliament. It needs addressing ASAP. From bullying to sexual misconduct, its a national embarrassment. And that's before you get to individual bad apples outside of the office hours.

They haven't actually quoted anyone on this issue.

The Mail group are masters of careful wording, having lost a large number of libel suits in the past. The article says that "Tory MPs have mischievously suggested" that Angela Rayner does this. It then quotes a Tory MP saying something that could be entirely unrelated. The Mail are experts at taking several unrelated quotes and then stringing them together in one paragraph to give the appearance that people are commenting on an issue.

It's very effective, Daily Mail readers aren't known for their ability to breakdown and think about what their newspaper is telling them.

I am not sure many newspaper readers do and I agree..

Guardian readers are especially gullible

that's fair. Although this practice should also be cracked down upon. Imo all quotes should be named too.

Every other story that the DM prints is total lies, completely untrue and is deflecting from something - partygate, probably. Except this story, because it fits my narrative of hatred of the Tories, so it must be 100% true.

It was a nasty piece of journalism. If it isn't true, then there should be repercussions on the Mail.

TBF the Tory party are acting as tho it is a credible story. Although that may be because they have to be seen to be believing it as the alternative is calling out the Mail.

Perhaps it's because all the Tory men *are* distracted when she crosses her legs. They don't want to call it out as untrue in case they themselves are named.

Dishy Rishi ended up a bit bland despite being on the menu as a three chilli spicy offering.

If true, this really does not help one bit, it just turns what is a very serious issue in public life into a farce.

Because they would be savaged in the house of course. Why give the opposition an opportunity to score points?
