Reports that Russia have said they will reduce attacks on Kyiv and Chernihiv, as negations in Turkey are being presented to Putin for advice.
I do not trust this move at all! This smells of delay tactics to regroup and counter attack, recent Ukrainian gains on pushing the Russians back.
I'm sure the Ukrainians are thinking this too, but how will they prevent a regroup happening and not look like the aggressor? |

Well hopefully it will give more innocent civilians to get out of danger and aid to get to others.
I can't see the Russians just packing up and going home quietly with their tail between their legs. |

Personally, I feel the Russian Federation should offer terms of surrender.
That is, they, the Russian Federation surrender.
They've invaded a sovereign nation, killed its citizens and bombed their infrastructure.
Nothing less than a grovelling apology, tried for war crimes, and full surrender of their country. Basically what happened to Germany in 1945. That's where the RF should be standing. |

Never happen in a million years whilst Putin is at the helm. |

Just a thought but does Putins tactical withdrawal signify supply chain problems or is it getting his troops away from either chemical or nuclear fallout? Hopefully the former but he can’t be regarded as a rational man with empathy given what he has done to Chechnya Syria Crimea etc |

It did cross my mind that he's finding an excuse to evacuate his own prior to something far more sinister. |

"I think it’s funny that the Russians can say this in the area they are getting their arse kicked and want us to believe they are doing it heartfelt!
It’s all tactical…. "
It’s the constant denial that they are shelling who cities in residential areas that gets me.
Even the Russian ambassador to the USA was on the channel 4 news refusing to acknowledge the fact that air raid sirens were getting no off in lviv while the reporter was talking to him
Even saying that he felt it was unfortunate for him to be living in the USA at this time as well
Talk about robots ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

"The US are bringing Nuclear Airborne command centres into Europe. Russia is flying Nuclear armed Bombers over Sweden.
Are we not being told something?"
Possibly. Like how nuclear armaments are not listed as possible payload weapons for a Sukhoi Su-24 bomber. Not that I can find on a general search anyway. |

How do you look like an aggressor when you are on your own soil?? |

It has moved on from that point now.. At the time of the announcement, if Russia had withdrawn quickly, the Russians would have more than likely used this to draw criticism on any attack on a withdrawing army, which would have been a propaganda win for Putin back home. |

Withdrawing to regroup is a massive climb down and a huge risk. Ukraine will mine all routes in and make it a lot harder the second time for the invaders, they'll also be better prepared and armed. Their even larger army and reserves will be better trained.
For Russia to regroup will take months probably years. They now know hard the job is and need to be in better place across the board to mount a second offensive. As it stands they could lose the Eastern regions and Crimea, the problem is their box of threats to use against Ukraine is now empty. Russian desperation will play into the hands of Ukraine. |
