"Some good news for a change, its reported that they have given her passport back and so she should be able to come home."
I do hope so but would not trust them until she has flown and landed in the uk.
Too many times have they suddenly gone back and brought fresh charges or some other bullshit reason to get her into the courts again.

"Lets just hope mr Johnson keeps his big mouth shut until she regains her liberty and freedom."
Hopefully, it will happen.
But I don’t think the 400 Million was to secure her freedom, probably an afterthought, call me cynical, I think it was an attempt to get a favour with the Iranian government, because they have lots of oil, and we need some.
A so the game of thrones continue…..

Bit of a tactic to build up hope only to dash them.
Hope she makes it out |

Funnily enough, that’s just what I was thinking!
The Saudis and OPEC don’t want to increase supply so if we start being nice to the Iranians and paying our debts to them then the Saudis might think we have a bargaining chip! On the other hand they could just laugh in our faces and then we truly are fucked. Oh and don’t forget that Putin now has a naval presence in the Eastern Mediterranean thanks to Assad’s Syria. It almost looks like the Western powers were asleep on the job thanks to Brexit and Maga! |

Indeed it is very good news. I've come to this thread quite late and I'm a bit surprised that nobody's given Liz Truss any credit for her role in finally resolving this issue in a positive way.
I know people might be surprised to hear it from me; but she does deserve credit.
I'm never going to think well of her - she's a Tory. However, on this issue, at least, she has proven herself not to be the useless incompetent many people considered her to be - particularly after her outing to Russia.
It may be a one-off, who knows? But, even if it is, it's a good one.
And if useless incompetence is what you're after - there's still the PM and the rest of the Cabinet.
Right, Priti? |

I don't know enough to Comment, but could be a case of handing a cheque over to what was owed possibly |

I think a wider view is needed tbh, for weeks the customers of OPEC have been calling on them to up oil production but led by Saudi Arabia it has mostly fallen of deaf ears.
Look at where Boris was when the deal with Saudi Arabia’s Asia China enemy was done? He didn’t go cap in hand, he went to ask nicely while at the same time issuing a veiled threat that if they didn’t up production we & probably the rest of Europe would go buy Iran’s oil. Outside of Israel Iran are the biggest enemy of Saudi Arabia.
Before the lilliwhites among us go “No, we can’t deal with them!”. Ask yourself this. Why is Putins gas still flowing to Germany after he invaded a sovereign state? & why is the $ for it still flowing in the opposite direction?
If you can currently deal with Putin you can most certainly deal with Iran without feeling you are letting the side down. ??

Yes, it could just be that. However, she got to the point of admitting there was a cheque to be signed - something that Boris and Dominic were unable to do. |

Reminds me of the fake gurus and holy men who gather a following. The will spit out so called pearls of wisdom, totally made up words in their head.
Then the followers will be scratching their heads to what the words meant. But still believing he has said something profound but the mere mortals cannot comprehend. |

I have been shy of reading the news as of late. And have not long known of Nazanin's release
What great news and what a truly great husband she has.
The lengths he went to to keep this alive in the media and help to secure her freedom...he is a hero in my book!
This should never have happened and I'm really happy to see of her release. I can't begin to imagine what she has been through. |
