After ww2, much of western europe basked in the glory of winning. Whilst at the same time refusing to bask in the glory of exactly who stormed the Reichstag.

Nobody is perfect. Concentration camps certainly gave way to gulags.

But in this world in which we exist, I do have one question. Exactly which superpowers have already unleashed their superiority with nuclear bombs?

Everybody celebrated the fall of Germany and the end of the european theatre of war. The Reichstag was stormed by soldiers of the Allies and rightly celebrated.

Gulags have been around since the 1920's so predated the death camps in occupied europe/germany

You know the answer to the last point so what is your point?

Do you think that the UK, USSR or any other country would not have unleashed that power to bring about the surrender of a fanatical enemy who would have fought to the death resulting in millions of military and civilian casualties?

Maybe that demonstration of destructive power is one of the reasons the Soviet Union stopped at Berlin ..........
