Didn't she do well?
She looked good in her fur coat and hat - Thatcher would be proud.
Unfortunately the Russians don't think much of her though with even the Times (British newspaper) headlining that
"Russia mocks Liz Truss over geography slip and calls British diplomacy "worthless"".
Most people do some research before doing negotiations.
Lavrov said, "Do you recognize Russia's sovereignty over Rostov and Voronezh oblasts?"
Truss said the UK would "never" do so – before the ambassador told her they're not in Ukraine.
If she expects to do the job of foreign secretary and expects to meet with her counterparts and negotiate, perhaps she should do some homework rather than letting others make a fool of her.
Photoshoots are all very well for the Sun readers but if the UK wants to play politics on the World stage, they had better get someone who is respected and knows what they are talking about to represent them. |

I have a solution, before her next trip abroad she should ask the readers of the sun what questions they think she should ask the local dignitaries |

She is another one , thick as mince and ignorant
Lavrov: Do you recognize Russian sovereignty over Rostov and Voronezh regions?
Truss: UK will never recognize Russian sovereignty over these two regions.
Then British ambassador had to intervene. It’s not like Truss was tricked into it by the cunning Lavrov.
She insisted that Russia withdraws troops from Ukrainian border. Lavrov answered that Russia can do what it pleased in Russian territory. She kept insisting, which is when Lavrov asked that question.
Rostov and Vorenezh are in Russia btw |

What was she doing there at all? We should have stopped all diplomatic ties with Russia after the Salisbury poisoning. Bunch of thugs and killers that have plundered the wealth of Russia. Cunts in fact. Outside of the obscene wealth of very few in Moscow & St Petersburg, rest of the country is seriously third world. |

Poor leaders isn't a new thing but this is the first administration to purge anyone of any remote intelligence from it. Every government will have a couple of bad apples. This one has infected an entire orchard. |

it's odd that some people want to drag the conversation away from the discussion surrounding liz truss and her failed appointment as Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs. |

That would be our diplomat who threatened sanctions without sanctions being discussed at home, confused the Baltic and Black Seas, spent the meeting talking over the interpreter, told the Russians we didn't respect sovereignty over their own country and pissed them off so much that they walked off mid press conference.
That Liz Truss? Little Miss Pork Markets? |

The Russians would have been rude to any British Foreign Secretary.
She just makes it easier for them to make her, and by extension the UK, look foolish.
She is, apparently, spamming the UK Flikr account with tax payer funded photos as she positions herself for Prime Minister:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/feb/12/liz-truss-instagram-diplomacy-five-photos-a-day-foreign-secretary-flickr
It really feels like it is just a game being played. Not even any pretence of doing an actual job with consequences.
Too much GoT? |

No I did notice, but when you see the calibre get progressively worse, you tend to bemoan it more, I would compare it to Hapsburgs, the tories have politically inbred themselves so much, that Boris and Liz truss are politically brother and sister, and what ever action they produce its going to be half mad, sick and deformed.

Just frightening that she thinks she can threaten and not expect retaliation.
If you think Trump's "grab em by the pussy" was shocking, I'd love to have been a fly on the wall after the meeting.
In Russia, 'men fight', he'd be laughing his balls off during that meeting then goes on to insurance her with punity. Remember school, when the nasty kids took your pencil case while teasing, throwing it to each other and you were running after it begging for it back.
The guy is dry and a difficult, arrogant, bombastic player who usually gets what he wants. It's like throwing pebbles at King Kong to scare it away.
Liz Trust hasn't got it, Thatcher would have and there is the difference. |

Don’t you think he has been told to be difficult and to basically ignore her or anyone else who goes to talk.
We never see women in senior roles in Russian politics or do we ? |

I haven’t but I don’t follow Russian politics that closely.
But I say this, other women MP’s would have probably been even more savvy than Liz, this is the problem, you don’t bring a spoon to gun fight, and Liz truss demonstrates she is a spoon head. |

There are women in Russian politics but Bolsheviks attitudes to females isn't good.
A few years ago the forbids females bringing charges of domestic abuse and violence against their husbands.
The moment she left the room, they'd have been rolling around the floor after sitting all serious biting their tongues hard in order to keep straight faces. |
