On balance, Russia probably won't invade. It has little to gain, but a lot to lose if things go badly for them. But it's troubling that Russia feels emboldened to carry out sabre-rattling exercises on the border of it's neighbours. |

The news is always calculated. Have you ever noticed that these doom reports only appear when they are trying to distract you from other things? Exactly. |

If russia thinks that the disputed area should be part of russia and the people there vote to be part of russia then surely they could thrash out a deal where russia buys it like the yanks bought alaska? And no one dies - wouldn’t that be good - for once. I know this is an overly simplistic view but its better than all the death and destruction of lives and property… no one WINS a war - and im not a tree hugging hippy - I just don’t see the point of war as Ive got older - sanctions hit the country but most often the most vulnerable in that country - the leaders are well prepared and provisioned - the poorest people suffer the most for decisions they have no power over. Just saddens me that after 2 massive worldwide conflicts leaders still seem to think war is a viable option to get what you want. |

"I feel for the Ukrainians " on the news this morning they said Ukrainians are used to this constant threat - I thought what-a terrible way to have to live - they said it like that made it ok?
Like i said earlier - just makes me sad that the leaders just don’t learn or don’t care.

The west has repeatedly ignored Russia's legitimate security concerns for 20 years and this is a result. NATO is a paper tiger and no match for it in a conventional warfare sense. All this bluster about threats and consequences is nothing but bravado meant for domestic consumption.
Russia wants nothing to do with most of the Ukraine. It's practically a failed state, bankrupt, with crumbling infrastructure and infested with neo nazis, especially in the western regions.
What they will not tolerate is placement of NATO infrastructure on their borders where missiles would be just 4-5 mins to Moscow.
If any kind of hostilities break out, there will be no Russian invasion and tanks rolling into Kiev. The ukranian army can be destroyed in 48h with stand off weapons, artillary and air strikes. A no fly zone would be imposed over that country. No eueopean country would risk casualties for a liability that isn't even a NATO member.
This is the reason Russia is only talking to the U.S. They're the only ones who matter and have any agency. Europeans are irrelevant. |

Part of it is Ukraine's non compliance with a treaty signed with russia in 2015 (negotiated by germany and france) over two small towns on the border that want to remain russian. Ukrain has cut them o rom the border after agreeing free travel for the people.
this is the only way to force Ukraine back to the table and get them to comply with it |

"Is anyone worried ?"
It's posturing from Biden to try and look strong despite the truth being seen easily the world over. It's nothing to worry about, yet. Hopefully Tulsi Gabbard has some ears.

If that was the case the Russians would not be backing the separatists in the Far Eastern part of Ukraine, and also would not have invaded crimea (or are we just going to blissfully forget that ever happened…….)
As it happens the Russians have announced they are doing naval exercises in the next few weeks… happens to be in Irish eez waters!! ( just where the North America to Europe cables are) … the threat is going to be if the west squeeze Russia with sanctions the navy will go after those communications cables |

This is what Google had to say: -
“All based on a 1 vs 1 war, no allies involved. UK invades Russia: Russia wins, easily. No country has been able to successfully invade and occupy Russia, it's too big, and even if the British military was ten times its current size it couldn't do it.” |

I doubt it. You've had an official government apology from David Cameron already.
As far as they're concerned. That's enough. Look on the positive side; he might actually have meant it.
Boris wouldn't even have considered apologising for the state murdering its own citizens. |

Yes, you are very wrong, and extremely uneducated. I live in the North and iam an Irish and European citizen, as stated on my passport. Your comment on calling us a pain in the arse also comes as no surprise, typical British attitude towards Ireland. And yes we hope to get the brits out of Ireland one day. If you have any form of education you might understand why." hahaha typical british attitude same attitude as yours then i see my self as english but by law im british same as you.personally the sooner the south agree to have you the better |

"Don't forget about the victims of bloody Sunday. 50 years ago today the British army opened fire and murdered civilians on a civil rights march in derry. We will get justice one day!
I doubt it. You've had an official government apology from David Cameron already.
As far as they're concerned. That's enough. Look on the positive side; he might actually have meant it.
Boris wouldn't even have considered apologising for the state murdering its own citizens.
The state didn't murder its own civilians, they murdered Irish citizens.british citizens unless those who were shot were from south of the border
I think you will find they where Irish nationalists that where murdered. Although I wouldn't expect you to understand.you may like to think they were irish citizens but they were from the north so british citizens, personaly i dont like being referred to as british either unfortunatley thats what my passport says,id be happy for england n.ireland wales and scotland to go there seperate wàys unfortunatley im in a minority far as i can see only time we are british is if there is a war to fight or an olympics to take part in the everyone all of a sudden is waving union jacks

There will be a United Ireland at some point, maybe not in my lifetime but it will happen. Border polls have shown that if it went to the people of Ireland to vote on independence, it would be a landslide result. |

"Nope, they’ll be removed from the swift banning system and crumble
Russia can’t fund a war "
What do they need to fun? They can print their own money to pay the troops. They have enough kit for 10x a war with Ukraine and they know Europe needs their gas as much as Russia needs their cash. I honestly doubt that will stop them. |

"Not sure where French loyalties lie "
Why are you so worried about the French? Do you dislike them and just stiffing the pot. Or do you have some more solid grounding for the incessant Francophobia? |

"It's just propaganda media bullshit hyping it up showing old footage of Russian millatry "
And Russia hasn’t really massed 175,000 soldiers with associated tanks and heavy armour on the Ukraine border for the first time ever.
It’s just an illusion. |

Now the Nukes are in place, drills brought forward..
True to form, the propaganda machine's wheel are starting to turn, to allow false flag claims Ukraine provoked and Russia is justified in defending Russia speaking people.
It's coming, the ratcheting is well under way. True to form as was Chechnya, Georgia and the other times "poor ikkle Wussia" got picked on.
If you believe there will be no invasion then your in a parallel universe. I've watched the "nothing to see here, the West is paranoid and hysterical" crap on RT out of interest.
RT should be removed from our screens, it is direct feed propaganda... |

I have purchased a boiler LPG conversion kit and without wanting to sound paranoid, when it does kick or or if Putin's retaliation to sanctions is to shut off or sell Europe destined gas to China.
Gas supply might get a little rocky, so although I may never use it. I would recommend if they are available for your boiler, having one ready in case you want to switch to bottled LPG.
£15 for my boiler. |

They are all as guilty as each other, East and West, but as it stands today there is mass mobilisation against Ukraine that us behind a smoke screen.
What is to say once it starts, it doesn't carry on to the old USSR territories as Putin for many years complains about the break up if his great motherland.

So since Ukraine became independent there have only been two increased massing of soldiers on the border. The first time Russia annexed Crimea. What do you think might be the reason for this current escalation of forces and weaponry on the border?
The best outcome will be an annexing of Eastern Ukraine, the worst outcome will be a full invasion and toppling of the Ukraine Govt to install a Kremlin puppet.
Why you are deflecting onto wider unconnected issues is a mystery. |

"I’ve got insider info and the US military has been preparing for a war as soon as this started
I know Biden is saying US troops won’t touch soil, but the US military is acting like that "
Superpower prepares for action when other superpower mobilised army. That’s a bit obvious though. Hardly top secret stuff. |
