Have you ever noticed that when things get bad for a government a little sabre rattling gets everyone patriotic

I am not sure it will work this time though, people are too informed these days

If the PM tries to pull a Falklands, please remember this post.

It’s happening, as we speak, Boris is diverting, looks like the rattling is starting apace, Stage 2 call the opposition cowardly for not supporting it. We are going to hear that alot in the coming days and weeks, what a selfish guy.

Let's just pray Johnson doesn't think war with Russia would be a good enough distraction to save his bacon...

Yes. It's worrying that so many prominent tories are salivating at the prospect of Russia invading Ukraine - again.

What's worst of all is that they know that - should Putin turn out to be stupid enough to invade; which seems unlikely but not impossible - they won't be in harms way.

You have to wonder what difference an invasion of the Ukraine will make to them. An increase in their dividend from BAe? Having to sell their shares in GAZPROM? No more Party funding from their friendly oligarch?

The good news, from a UK citizen's point of view, is that none of them, or their children, will be getting sent to die in a pointless war - should there even be one.

And, on a related point; can any of you remember how dramatically your lives changed when Russia annexed Crimea?

It didn't, did it?

Tobias Ellwood and Tom Tugendhat. No doubt you don't consider them prominent.

The point made by the OP is correct - whether you agree with it, or not.

Don’t worry Johnson has been given permission by his Russian handlers to rattle that little sabre a bit. Got to keep up appearances!
