"...what will the Labour Party do???"

Labour’s current strength is due to a PM who has no morals, I am certain once the current PM is removed a new leader will galvanise the party just in time for the polls to improve and thus the local elections will be fine.

But it all depends on the PM’s party having the courage to do the right thing, which isn’t looking very promising at the moment.

Isn’t that the Tory’s issue though. Like Stalin in his great purge of generals Boris has gotten rid of good quality ministers and civil servants just to surround himself with yes men and women?

Now the party is looking for a capable leader but they have to have some public recognition which most of the back benchers simply don’t have.

Are they stuck with Boris?

This is very true.

The Tory old guard who had gravitas, intelligence and political savvy were all purged in 2019. Kenneth Clarke, David Gauke, Dominic Grieve, Rory Stewart and Nicholas Soames were some of the 30 MP’s deselected because they questioned Brexit.

Now the face of Conservatism is represented by half-wits like Nadine Dorries, Mark Francois, Gavin Williamson and Priti Vacant.

It’s a perfect example of why top management should be made up of the best people for the job rather than yes-men.

It is looking like to me sadly that Boris is going to survive, and that he knows it.

My only hope is that Cummings has more dirt on him.

As for labour on news night last night they debated if kier is wanting Boris to survive to the local elections, as its the only way he will win more seats.

If Boris goes, who is a less narcissistic, self servicing, lying sack of shit?

I'm not convinced any of the top Tories would be better. They're all in on the same shit.

Maybe Labour do want Boris in longer, upto the next election.

As for what Labour should do, they should be critical of government policy where necessary, and continue to point out what a lying prick Boris is. IMO.

As someone said above. Boris and his cabinet are running the best labour campaign ever. So I imagine they'd try and keep him in post for as long as possible.

Be very pleased I would think. Boris is doing more to campaign for Labour than all of Labour combined. I do understand the point of who will replace him could be a problem but whoever it is will have time to rebuild before the general election. Labour need to have him in power until either the election or just before it

This kind of argument comes round quite a lot. Whenever Boris or the top Tories lie, fuck over the public etc.

Everyone gets hopeful that the Tories reign of self serving narcissism is going to be over.

But it never is, the vast majority of the press supports the government at election time. And nothing ever changes.

Which is why we are struggling to support our citizens with all things social which is a primary aim of government. This stability then frees up business to grow the economy because it has that very stable economic base stability. .

Sadly any growth in income goes into the same pockets over and over again.

Labour will likely be sad the country is still being led by a serial liar who happily breaks rules and laws whenever he wants to.

But Labour will likely also be happy because Johnson will drag the Tories into more scandals and cost them more votes in the future.

*Should be the primary aim of the government. But even the most hardcore Boris supporting Tory would find it hard to argue that the current government even gives half a shit about British people.

They may or not.. Kind of irrelevent as its over shadowed by their absence of identifiable values, individual and collective colossal incompetence and incoherent policies

Have you actually read a paper lately?

Also the newspapers make up a tiny amount of the news that people are exposed to....their day in the sun is over....
