Party - alternative viewpoint

S, Boris seems to be willing to pursue the argument that the party in the garden was a working event and not a private party.

In view of that, I have 2 questions.

1. Did Carrie attend the party?

2. Is she employed by Downing Street / the government in relation to this event and the attendees?

If both questions are answered with NO, then it was clearly a social party and she was mixing outdoors with more than one person who was not a member of her household. In this eventuality, she clearly would have broke the law.

Further questions I have.

Who exactly attended this party?

Who received an invitation but didn't attend?

In my opinion, not only should Boris resign, so too should everyone who attended.

And those who received an invitation but didn't attend had better have a bloody good excuse as to why they failed to report this event at the time.

It's bs, Boris wants people to believe the unbelievable..

If as he says he thought it was outdoor working, where were the other 60 or so who never attended from the original 100 and the email starts with 'we' from his PPS..

So he got the email and didn't question what's going on given the rules at the time or when he noticed no one seems to be at work I'll just see if they're in the garden he didn't straight away put a stop to it therefore nothing to come out later..

He is pissing on the shoes of everyone who did the right thing at that time..

I agree, but this has always been Boris. It's why I didn't vote for him or any of his cronies. (You should see what my local Conservative Councillor has been getting up to)

Boris is a schoolboy with great egghead invention ideas. Great potential, but he never has enough steam to pull them off. Take for example, when he was London Mayor.

The Boris Bus. Fantastic design, iconic even. It fully addresses the back door issues and put conductors back onto buses. But it was flawed. They are basically hybrid vehicles. They are supposed to be electric powered but with a small diesel engine to generate power and to take over when the electric fails. Well most of them were soon running around on diesel power due to the electrics being duff.

He also came up with the whole Boris bike idea. Great idea, rent a bike and the rental is for a one way journey. This led to bikes accumulating at destinations and a shortage of bikes at departure points. The answer to that problem was a fleet of diesel powered vans driving round, relocating Boris bikes. Which kinda defeated the object of the exercise.!

He can't defend this one. My neighbours made me laugh during lockdown. One made an essential journey to Brick Lane for bagels then complained that there was many people out and about. The other mentioned that they never left the house but really should have reported their car being stolen and returned every day after visiting their daughter and grandchildren. No one can cast the first stone in this but Boris and Co. Should have been at least trying to follow thier own guidance.

There are no credible answers to any of this for Johnson.

1) if it was a party and he attended - he has been stupid beyond words and made a mockery of the public health measures that everyone else was adhering to.

2) even if he didn’t attend but knew about it - how could he b CV o done these things happening?

3) if he didn’t know about this or any other party - what is he doing letting the staff run amok? Where are his eyes and ears? (his own or people he employs to watch and listen).

4) If his employed eyes and ears knew about the parties but didn’t tell him, or assured him that the rules were being followed - what kind of poor judgement does he have to employ people who can’t act with probity?

There are no answers that are even less bad.

It’s terrible for him really.

You seriously need to research Carrie.

He can and he will.

I'm not saying that he is right.

Far from.

But I have been bullied throughout my life, and I know a bully when I see one.

It's gonna be a David v Goliath struggle and there is NO certainty that David might win.

However, he has still more than 2 years before the next enforced general election, which gives him more than enough time to find enough excuses to abandon the next general election.

Clearly not a work meeting. Clearly a party. Carrie was there with G&T in hand.

People should be fined and sacked.

Or else all those who were fined (thousands) should appeal!

The Boris bike was an initiative started by his predecessor Ken Livingstone.

He didn’t personally design the bus or play a part in it’s design. Like most of ‘triumphs’ his name was attached.

One rule for us, another rule for them. That is what you get, and in case you forget next GE, just because they changed the deck chairs on the titanic, it’s still the titanic!

I agree, and my point put succinctly.

I see what you did there, but if certain conspiracy theories are to be believed, it could have been an Olympic disaster. Likewise, the Conservative Party has more than enough time to change the deck chairs, let off some fireworks, have some booze and canape fuelled work meetings and still be the Party of Downing Street at the next GE.

Far to many questions for the Comedy Party members to answer; they couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery so chose No. 10 for "discretionary purposes".
