There is a certain similarity. In that the cover up seems far more damaging than the initial event.

Really hope so but sadly is still seems some on the Boris band wagon still feel he can do no wrong. I feel he needs to clear off and let a responsible adult Take over at this point but as I keep reminding myself what do I know.

He's really pissed off a lot of his own MPs at this point. If he gets brought down, they'll be the ones who do it.

He laid the groundwork to blame somebody else for Partygate at PMQs. The problem is, I think he's the target of most public anger now. So it's hard to see how sacrificing an underling will appease all that anger.

Dominic Grieve, lifelong Tory, just called Johnson on camera "a consummate liar", "a chalatan" and said "he can't be trusted on anything".

Could Tories be starting to actually say what they think of Johnson?

No. Boris and Co could walk into the average Tory voters house, kick the door in, shit on the floor, smash the TV. And still count on their vote in the next election.

Ah but that's understandable. After a bunch of boozy Xmas parties, a chap might have to shit somewhere in a rush.

They need to write to the 1922 Committee and ask for a vote of no confidence. Although he is a mendacious charlatan posing as a politician I still feel that is unlikely. No way will he resign either. He's Teflon and none of this shit actually sticks to him.

Allegra Stratton, the PM's spokeperson who laughed and joked about the party in that vid, just made a v brief and teary resignation speech.

If Johnson thinks that's enough to kill Partygate, he's v v wrong.

Johnson's apparently doing a press conference at 6pm about Covid. Where he will no doubt desperately avoid talking about Partygate.

By throwing Stratton under the bus, Johnson has just basically told everybody who works for him what he'll do to them at the 1st opportunity. Hard to see how some of them won't turn on him now.

They have armed policemen at the gates of Downing Street.

Everyone that passes the gates has to be identified and everyone entering No 10 Downing Street is identified.

How much evidence is needed?

LIZ TRUSS!!!! That is a joke right? I mean Johnson acts the buffoon and is lazy and unable to focus or do detail but he is actually quite clever (devious). Liz Truss is simply thick! Like really really thick!

Liz Truss is unintentionally hilarious. Truss highlights: her announcement about pork products and the time she pretended to be disgusted about cheese

Thats what I saw, they are trying to make her look like thatcher, by having her pose in a tank, one couldn't make that up.

Truss is one of those people who seems too stupid to realise she's stupid. So she thinks she's brilliant.

She's basically the Dunning-Kruger effect in human form.

When the back benchers start losing their seats in the bi elections that's when he'll be in the shit.

They'll dump him.

I think he should stay in so the punishment he's enduring continues.

Keep punching the clown.

But part of me wants him to stay as he drags the Tories down a little more with every lie and every scandal.

With their tongues.

After all that's been seen and reported on over the past weeks, with regard to Boris - and those who prop him up - is it any wonder that people use derogatory language to describe Tories?

I see, today, he's blaming the BBC - because, obviously, they're the only media outlet giving him a hard time right now - not.

He's a lying, incompetent fool - with the deaths of well over 100,000 UK citizens on his hands - who has never borne responsibility for his actions, his whole life.

He might even know the difference between right and wrong but he has proven he doesn't care. Why should he? Life has no consequences for him.

Even when he's out of office - which can't come soon enough - after all the harm he's left behind him; he won't be suffering any of it.

Fuck knows who his replacement will be - but if the TPM don't avoid Truss, Raab, Patel, etc; they'll really have lost the plot.

She's not the only one. It could also be argued that Raab is evidence that an utter dimwit can get a law degree.
