Government overruling judges decisions, are we going to allow Boris to take Judiciary decisions away from the Courts.
Seems Boris was very pissed over the overruling of his Proroguing Parliament. Boris and his cronies want the law changing to allow Government to kick out rulings on anything they feel fit in order to get what they want.
This effectively leaves us with an autocratic state where the Government controls everything with no protection of the courts.
The Times has reported that the UK Government, led by Boris Johnson, seeks to implement a new law that allows it to overrule and reverse the decisions of the Judiciary that it doesn't like by way of an "annual review" of the courts' decisions - the "Interpretation Bill".
This cannot be right, and must not be permitted to happen.
Find the petition on Change and sign it. The Government must NOT be able to overrule the Courts.
This is our Constitution at stake..
Google: "HALT the Government Power-Grab" to find the petition.
You can search YouTube "HALT the Government Power-Grab" for details of this and implications.

There are three pillars of a healthy democracy:
The Executive
The Legislature (voted for by the citizens)
The Judiciary (independent)
Our Legislature is supposed to represent the citizens and be a check against the Executive over-reaching. However, the 80 seat majority and party whip means the Executive can pretty much do whatever it wants!
One of the primary reasons for an independent judiciary is as a check and balance over the Executive to protect citizens.
When you consider this alongside other issues including their desire to replace the Human Rights Act and the Crime & Policing Bill pretty much removing the right to protest, then we have a very worrying direction of travel.
No doubt the blue tribe will try to deny the seriousness of this and fail to acknowledge the connections. What they will also fail to acknowledge is that this current government (Executive) are not Conservatives! They are proto-fascists.
Dangerous times! |

There have been plenty of Court cases the Government lost over the last few years.
That does not mean the Courts are wrong, it means they find the Government acting unfairly, immoral or even illegally.
We cannot allow this protection to be taken away..

Smoke screens..
Trump survived on a rolling news cycle of distracting the truth of what was really happening. Boris is Trumps bezzy mate so no doubt guidance is being given.
Remember Tony Blair's "it's a good day for bad news day" on 9/11.
Legislation passed to authorities to shoot to kill anyone defying lockdown in the event of biological warfare and many others put out on the quiet that day.
Then again, they passed these rules, so should shoot anyone not wearing masks in supermarkets instead! |

This thread should be full, I see it isn't , I see that we are a minority here, as we are in the real world.
if I were a politician I would feel very secure right now, I can distract the public, then change laws to suit me.
democracy I think not.

"Genuinely surprised the usual Govt shills haven’t descended on this thread to throw around whataboutisms and twisted justifications to support their tribe!"
Really hard to justify this one. Then again, give it time... |

"The smoke and mirrors is working.. everyone is too consumed with PartyGate."
I really doubt Partygate is smoke and mirrors. That scandal risks ending Johnson's career. He's desperate to bury Partygate.
But yeah your thread topic is v important. |
