"Yes, none of them have broken any rules! " Maybe the rules need to change. Is it too much to expect our elected representatives to prioritise doing what's best for the country?

Most of the MPs who have second jobs are not consultants. Some of the highest earners in the House of Commons are lawyers. Geoffrey Cox, who was attorney general during the height of the Brexit negotiations, has registered a total of £970,000 income in the last year, for 705 hours of legal services. "Then distinctions need to be drawn on second incomes. Thats a matter for the Hoc to debate, and bring in any appropiate laws. A second income is just that, whether it comes from being a consultant, a doctor, an army reservist, a charity advisor etc" Should the PM be present during the HOC debate? It's more than just a second income if you effect policy or government purchasing in favour of the secondary employer.

"Not a full list - the simple crofter (former Deutsche Bank financier) Ian Blackford also has external income. Personally - unless you have to maintain a professional registration via practice hours, then MPs and others should have no paid outside consultatancy." i believe it's from the register of interests

There's a potential conflict of interest by being a representative of the people and a 'consultant' to a company.
