Yesterday Lord Frost was threatening the EU with Article 16 unless they agreed to re-write the Northern Ireland protocol that David Frost himself negotiated and was rewarded for it by being given a Peerage.
Article 16 would more likely than not increase already high tensions between the U.K. and EU - absolutely would blow away any remnants of trust that the EU had with the U.K. and make a trade war all but inevitable.
This is like the threats that the U.K. made to the EU two/three years ago about walking away with a no deal unless the EU gave the U.K. everything it wanted.
A no deal Brexit and a trade war between the EU and U.K. would damage the U.K. far more than the EU. We can already see that with the results of the flimsy deal that we do have and the reluctance of the U.K. to adhere to that deal because it is so damaging.
Why oh why all this gesturing? |

Article 16 will be triggered any day now if only to distract from the sleaze and corruption.
Johnson knows that if he starts up his “war” against the EU again, he will get the attention diverted onto that.
Better to get the media focused on Brexit wars and bullying, pesky foreigners than on his own corrupt Government. |
