What's the reason for the payment and is it all French citizens or is there a criteria they have to meet
Income under 25000 euros."

So it’s basically happened in the us with the stimulus payments……
I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea … I would limit it to tax payers earning under a certain amount,
I don’t believe it should goes to those who are not working |

"Its cheaper to do that than cut the VAT on energy i guess.
A vat cut benefits everyone.
Lets see if Rishi scraps the vat on energy in this week's budget. " I doubt it to be honest but it is possible now we have left the eu. |

It would be a way to give some help for the impending rises but would have thought we could have done it when in the EU or not. I think a chunk of our bill is also a green levy. Maybe that could be looked at too though bit sensitive with the COP meeting |

ok - I was going to say it must have been to do with the level playing field thing but does not seem likely if the rates vary so much.
I expect it always gave a defense to cutting or scrapping it in the past. However this and future goverments can no longer hide behind that any more |

The absurdity of it. The French government puts taxes and 'green charges' on energy.
Then they pretend they are 'helping' by givy some of those taxes back.
Then they expect gratitude...when it was then that created the problem in the first place |

Genuine question: why are you so bothered by what the French do? |

I'm not. Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
Genuine question: why are you so bothered by anyone having an opinion on what France does? |
