The Government have done the right thing and bailed out this US owned fertiliser business.
Will they also bail out vital UK industries - like steel manufacturers?
Who knows? Anyway, it's good to see more socialism from the Tories - even if, as always, they've been forced into it.
Unless you think bailing out companies, unable to remain viable within a capitalist market system, with public money isn't socialism?
Eventually, capitalism will bring down the cost of gas - by funding more and more renewable energy generation; just not by the end of this winter, eh? |

"They haven't 'bailed it out"!
They are subsidising the gas it needs, so they can restart the two UK plants, in order to get the CO2 that we desperately need. "
Further to the above, only the Billingham plant is to reopen, until gas costs fall. |

Ok. Fair enough - a subsidy isn't a bailout. But it's still public money to help out private industry.
Do you think they'll be as generous with this country's steel manufacturers?
Do you think they should be? |

I do. And, since Covid, this Government has adopted a lot of the socialist solutions to the needs of the problems facing the UK.
Like you, I am in favour of that. Unlike you, I think they could do better. |

Well it should, but seems to be doing what's in the tory members and chums interests.
It's like count dracula ending up in charge of the blood transfusion service |

it's been 11 years with the situation worsening under successive tory governments and with so many idealogical turkeys perpetually voting for christmas there is still no indication of that happening anytime soon. |

Turkeys with a choice between voting for Christmas or the alternative offering of Corbyn Labour which would be like being shot in both knees, both elbows and the stomach before being left to die from gangrene... we need a strong and credible political opposition, there isn’t one! |
