Reports tonight of 2 Para going into Kabul to get people in safe houses amd the US commanders refusing to allow their own troops to leave the airport as it would invalidate the deal they have with the Taliban. One freelance journo on Twitter posting unconfirmed reports of uk and us commanders screaming at each other insode the airport and noone is working together.

Inews reporting mothers throwing babies over barbed wire fences for soldiers to take with at least one child landing on the fence itself.
This is staggering stuff. Ive been tearing up all day (on my hols) and cant turn away from the news and Twitter. So upsetting and the bravery of 2 Para right now is jaw dropping. |

It shows British forces on kabul streets and the US have been told they cannot leave the airport. The arguments at the airport were american leadership angry and Brits for going into the city and theor soldiers angry they arent allowed to go. No footage of the latter but that comes from family and friends of people there |

It shows British forces on kabul streets and the US have been told they cannot leave the airport. UK troops are not on the streets of Kabul.
They are operating on the airport perimeter, based around the Baron Hotel, which is the rendevous point for UK citizens and Afghans that have worked in our interest.
They are happy to face down tje Taliban but thats as far as it goes. |

2 Para have been into Kabul proper and got people from safe houses. US arent yet leaving the airport. Biden said today they are consodering starting doing this |
