Why would someone feel the need to spam a thread to prevent comment on it?

Just musing

Which thread are you referring too? Just out of interest

On this occasion: https://m.fabswingers.com/forum/politics/1181095

I've seen it done before though.

There used to be someone who used to try to get the last post on a thread.

Remarkable patience and focus

Seems a lot of effort.

I don’t even know how to post on a closed thread. I see some people sometimes manage it but I have never cared enough to learn.

Spamming is just another deflection tactic same as whataboutery.

This has come to your attention because it's happened at the end of a thread. However, it happens an awful lot in the middle of threads too.

Spamming in the middle of a thread may not prevent further comment but imo massively takes away from the actual thread.

I'd like people to use the quotes to . . . It's so much easier to read a thread when it's quoted out properly. Half the time you don't know who said what to whom.

True enough.

That was also done in the same thread.

I still don't understand the motivation, but I try not to do it deliberately.

Spam is a delicacy in Korea but not the type used to fill up a thread to prevent discussion

Plain loaf makes the best toast - not had this for a long time. As a kid used to hate the top crust .

Crispy rolls - best rolls ever. Trip down the newsagents in the morning, bag of 6. Buttered and a cup of tea - nothing like it.

Funny how mention of 2 simple bread products can evoke so many emotions

Have to agree here. Plain bread toasted is without doubt the best toast.

And no other roll beats crispy rolls

Square sausage and a slice of black pudding on a crispy roll

Heart attack coming but its just so good

My Friend has a Cat called 'Laughing Spam Fritter' He answers to it too

Why would people spam? I guess it's just because they can.

I do have to say that the politics forum has been a lot more civil and polite these last few days.

People chatting about issues instead of screaming names at each other.

It's great to see.
