Who do you think I am Jeremy Corbyn?
Brexit benefit - instead of buying food from the supermarket, you can now grow your own and keep chickens…. Fuck me - if only I would have known that, I would have voted Leave. |

"According to someone on here there’s a shortage of tomatoes and broccoli lol"
Tesco in Wigan yesterday had no broccoli, limited selection of tomatoes (no San Marzano or other vine plums), limited cucumbers and they have not had Johnson “make up begone” wipes for more than a month.
Rumour on the local Facebook groups is that people are stockpiling loo roll again - so I bought 200 rolls… just in case lol |

Individual broccoli’s are normally 350 Grammies by the way. Sounds like you were ordering tenderstems.

"Yet there they are sat in my trolley.
Okay now let's try toms . . . "
You really think I would make something up as stupid as my local Tesco not having broccs or my favourite tomato variant?
It happened. It might be a one off, it might not.
I will let you know when I go back in two weeks time. |

You initially said lack of tomatoes. Then changed it to a specific variant when you realised
BTW, you realise everything goes oos at some point. For a huge variety of reasons. Until we see actual products not available for a period of time then I wouldn't consider it a shortage. |

Fuck me….
You go into a shop and there is a section for broccoli and in another aisle there is a section for tomatoes.
There were no broccoli’s and the tomato space was sparse with no plum or sweet tomatoes and only packs of 4 large (3/4 of the tomato space was empty).
For what it’s worth there were other things that were also out of stock but I just mentioned the tomatoes snd broccs as they were just the most visibly obvious.
Is it a one off or is it part of the “shortage story@“? I really don’t know.
If it is the same in two weeks next time I go back then it is a problem. If not it isn’t.
I just made a comment on a thread FFS.
So glad I am on a train with fuck all else to do |

Genuinely amusing to see how the dwindling Remainers are clutching at straws...and cheering on bad employers who have caused problems by repeatedly cutting drivers' wages in recent decades.
Wages are now rising to lure drivers back ..and Remainers couldn't be more glum.
How revealing |

If everyone was to be allocated a specific quantity of Haribos, I would be happy to transfer my allocation over to Shag - as I know how much he loves his Haribos.
Personally, I'm not a fan of them |

Let's put it this way so as to avoid confusion:
An employer has many drivers knocking on his door (Previously Poles and Romanians in the EU days)
Does the employer a) take advantage and force wages down? Or;
b) put wages up?
Would wage cuts have the effect of forcing workers to move into other areas of employment?
I bet you won't answer |

If you think that wage increases which are caused solely by a shortage of labour is a good thing, then I suggest that you read a little on economics.
Sustainable pay rises are one thing but unsustainable pay rises simply result in inflationary pressures that the rest of the economy can’t cope with.
Destabilising an already Brexit and Covid damaged economy is the last thing this country needs. |

Wage rise is always welcome but I hope it changes the attitude of some employers to their staff and value them more. My friends and myself have all experienced employers in the past that treat people badly and if challenged just say if you don't like it then leave as there are plenty of from abroad who will take your place. If that attitude changes then I would be pleased but not holding my breath |

MY local LIDL has failed to carry stock of both their cheapest baked beans and also beans n sausage for the last 10 months. English muffins are a very rare sight and the American Shoestring Fries sold out before they went on sale. (North Wales here) |
