"15 years before parole. "
It’s isn’t parole as such… it is automatic 1/3 off for good behaviour under Minnesota law…
The other thing is that remember chauvin still had federal charges hanging over him.. one to do with floyd, and one to the with the arrest of a 14 yr old.. those could end up being added if found guilty |

Anyway I think chauvin is lucky to only get 22.5…
He could have gotten 40… the state asked for 30… and the judge found there were some mitigating circumstances as if not he would have gotten a minimum recommended 15…

"15 or 22 or 30, his life is ruined, I think he will die in prison."
There is zero chance that an ex cop is going to be in the general population.. much less one with his profile!
He is 45 now.. so would get out at 60 |

I'm glad he got the 22.5 years, but really wish he had gotten the maximum of 40 years. Even the judge said Chauvin tortured George Floyd to death. Well, at least Chauvin will serve 15 years of the sentence, and it's going to be a really rough 15 years for him, which is well deserved !!!
Maybe this will make some of the other bad cops out there think twice before over stepping their set boundaries, but your still going to have bad cops that need taught a hard lesson. |
