Can I ask how you switch your political allegiances?
Politics is a belief, you either believe in a socialistic society where in its most extreme everyone’s equal…( communism)
Or you believe in free enterprise and the better people are the better their paid…
So how do you change? |

Answering the question though, I think from what I've read, that he was always more on the liberal end of the Tories, and now the Boris shitshow has promoted every nonentity way above their ability, he's had enough and Labour have moved centreward enough for him to be able to see Starmer as less dangerous to the country than Johnson.
Ideology doesn't really enter the equation with Tories. Pragmatism always. |

He believes that the Tory changed. Not him.
He sees them as no longer a Conservative party but a populist or Nationalist party.
He views labour as an ideology that aligns more with his own political ideals of society ....
This won't do either party any good but I always find it commendable when someone votes with their feet as long as it's for the right reasons of course.
All will out in the end. |

Each political party is more an amalgamation of beliefs. Even if you were a socialist there's not one type of socialism.
And each political party ebbs and flows with how much they are centre, left or right.
If one party no longer seems to support certain ideas you have the you switch to one that does. |

He believes its the only chance of getting a peerage in the future. Im sure labour supporters will warm to a former member of the right wing monday club and the secretary of the immigration and repatriation committee
Good luck with that one another nail in the coffin. |
