Heinz

Yes of course it is good news. They are repatriating the manufacture of tomato sauce and salad cream as the main market has always been here in the U.K.

You can definitely count that as a Brexit loss for the EU and a win for the U.K. as it would not need to have happened had Brexit not interfered with U.K./EU food trade.

Heinz Tomato sauce manufacture has never been

The main Market in the UK .

60% of Americans & 80 % in Europe .

So roughly 175 million in theU.S & say

500 million in Europe .

Just so you know .

So why did Heinz say that the move was specifically to cater for the U.K. market?

“to meet the demand from a new generation of UK consumers”

Why is it comical? It is common sense and represents the Brexit that apparently people wanted.

Trade barriers will result in a movement of production to the side of the border with greatest demand. It is an inevitable consequence of installing barriers.

According to theSunday Times, there has been a £110 billion drop in EU/U.K. trade since Jan 01st 2020. There was also a drop in non EU/U.K. trade but by a much smaller proportion.

What might of happened to cause that drop and how do you think it will sort itself out going forwards? My belief is that production facilities will start to move around in recognition of the new reality at the border.

Have i disputed that ?

No,

I disputed that the UK was the

Rightful home of Tomato Sauce as stated by

whomever If it wasnt you .

Had they just said Salad cream i wouldnt have

Answered as it really is a UK thing .

I'm not sure what the Heinz factory makes on the M6 and depends if the have the space to install new production lines there.

Neither,

They are nust upgrading kit green in wigan .

Its already the bigvest food manufactuuring site in

Europe .

Kraft Heinz said switching manufacture to Wigan will lead to more recyclable packaging and create 50 jobs.

Sounds like investment will be mostly in technology .

It is a Whole 50 full time jobs though .

That'll see the unemployed figures tumble .

Well not really into the uk economy though is it .

Being that it is about production of food stuffs that go directly to an American based company .

Still im sure they will pay the tax on that .

As for getting a boner over something like a freeport

Is hardly relevant to anything .

I get a great chuckle at the expense of the Righties on

Here who defend evey action of incompetence by the tories or the hard right with rarely a flicker in the undergarms regions .

Maybe thats only a right leaning political thing .

Who knew eh .
