i dont condone Hamas, they only have crude missiles, unlike isreal who should be able to better target combatants.

Its only a first step but well done Egypt

Next wtep though is isreal obeying international law snd withdrawing from occupied territory

It's a good result all round. Israel can get on with being a modern, progressive country and Hamas can go back to brutalising their own people and being a proscribed terrorist organisation in peace. Well done Egypt.

The US was putting pressure on Israel behind the scenes.

The US was also putting pressure on Egypt behind the scenes to help negotiate a cease fire quickly.

The US is also currently rearming Israel's iron dome missile defense system.

The Palestinians have suffered enough because of bad leadership over the decades which resulted in conflict with Israel. And, because of this bad leadership for decades, which caused

conflict, the Palestinians have had more and

more of their land seized so Israel could feel

more secure.

The Palestinians need to stop following these bad leaders that they have been for decades,

because it hasn't been a benefit for them, it's

been a travesty for them.

Make no mistake, if the Palestinians continue

down this road of following these bad leaders, they will have no land left to fight for in the future.

Hamas will lead the Palestinian people to

destruction, and the Palestinian people deserve far better than that.

I don't condone civilians being killed on either

side, unfortunately that's just a horrible fact of

war.

The Palestinian people need to realize, they will never get the land that they considered theirs

back, it will never happen, ever. That part of the

equation is over, and has been for decades. They

also need to realize that Israel isn't an

occupation, its their land, its their country under international law. So, they need to focus on making their awful situation better, instead of

making it worse by following radical leaders that

they elected. If they elect good leaders, their

lives will improve drastically, if they don't elect

and follow good leaders, it will only get worse for them. It's their decision, hope they make a wise one.

Israel definitely has a right to defend itself from

any aggression, or from any perceivable threat

that may come in the future, and they most definitely have the means and will.

The Palestinians, and the other surrounding countries need to realize all this as fact, its not going to change, and just copitulate to international law. If not, they will continue to suffer for their mistakes in judgement.

Israel was right on the verge of taking all of Gaza as their own this time to eliminate the Hamas threat, and then forcing the Palestinians to be refugees that would have to flee to other countries to live. That would be an absolute disaster for the Palestinian people.

I hope the cease fire lasts and they decide on a

better way forward, its to their own benefit to do so.

" And Iran funds Hamas. Would rather my money going to Israel."

Depends on what isreal spends your taxes on? War or peaceful projects

If isreal followed international law, that would de-legitimise both hamas and Iran's involvement.

By withdrawal from the occupied territory would also put any aggression from hamas and iran squarely at fault under international law.

America and isreal, both firm allies are currently seen as having double standards with international law unfortunately, as is the UK who are just as bad.

Balfour Declaration is the reason 100 years later, men are fighting. The British system has a record of starting problems we are still seeing today. We may have a ceasefire, but I'm sure it's not the end sadly.

Hamas:- terrorist organisation proscribed by the UK's Labour government in 2001.

Is this statement true or false?

If a Hamas supporter could answer this without lying or resorting to the usual whataboutery, I'd be grateful.

Here's another one for Hamas supporters. Please explain why you support an organisation that has committed so many human rights violations, including subjugation of women, selling girls as young as 11 into marriage with men 3 or 4 times older than them and training boys as young as 13 to be soldiers?

I look forward to your responses.

Isreal holds the keys to the world's largest prison camp. They say who can enter/leave, how much food water they can/cant have If Gaza is a prison camp,it Hamas who are the jailers not israel."

Quick Google check result :

"Gaza, like the West Bank, is surrounded by a large military wall with access only possible via two entrances, one from Israel (Erez crossing) and the other from Egypt (Rafah crossing). It is important to note that due to the siege on Gaza imposed by Israel and in cooperation with the current regime in Egypt, getting into Gaza is, physically and bureaucratically, very difficult."

Maybe it's because what the poster wrote - offensive (is to me at least) - but it isn't Misogynistic.

"Misogyny is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. It enforces sexism by punishing those who reject an inferior status for women and rewarding those who accept it."

It would be helpful for males to understand its proper meaning as it is an important concept.

Shall we stop the body shaming and get back to the OP (yes all comments for those feeling picked on)

This thread has been going on a tangent for a while. A fact that I’m guilty of with my ramblings about lunch etc.

So the Op?

"Ha ha ha you serously couldnt make it this up..

A derogatory remark about Dianne abbot "fat arse'is not myogositic

Correct - remark wasn't misogynistic . . . by some it would be called offensive, however . . . so again . . .

"Misogyny is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. It enforces sexism by punishing those who reject an inferior status for women and rewarding those who accept it."

It would be helpful for males to understand its proper meaning as it is an important concept.

I'm sure you wouod say exactly the same if I'd have said it

Oh Yes. I would. Misogyny is Misogyny. Just as blue is blue and not red. I won't just jump between accepted norms of societal understanding just for the convenience of posting a post.

It also would be silly for me to do in light of the fact that someone would very quickly tell me just how wrong I was and also how duplicit I had been.

"

The fact that you and your mates have jumped on me..rather them addressing the remark

Would suggest otherwise

So well done Egypt. Now how about letting some humanitarian aid across the border. They can control that sort of thing so why are they not doing it?

The Arab world don’t seem too bothered by the past two weeks.

I remember being called a mysogonost for making a daft remark about the time of the month..but a derogatory comment about some one fat ass(gender specific)is less offensive.

Who.knew."

And if you can't see the difference between them, there are lots of great books on Amazon (or your fav's retailer) that will help you along with that.

How's your quest for an answer going. Hopefully it will be here soon. I seem to recall a week or two ago someone on here saying if a poster does not answer your question and deliberately deflects then they admit to being wrong or something along those lines. Maybe my memory playing tricks but sure it was said. Wonder who it was

Losing count here..so that's 5 different posters making personal remarks..even referencing events from last week?

Whilst the poster who makes a derogatory sexist comment ,receives absolutely not 1 word of condemnation.

I'll let you all get on with it

1 poster calls others terrorists repeatedly for not agreeing with his views and again

Not 1 person pulls them up.

Obviously threads from last week are more important.

It bears repeating this.

1 person has repeatedly called people who disagree with him terrorists and cowards and made a horribly sexist remark

The only 2 people who have disagreed with him are m and deano

Every single other posted has validated those opinion

I'll ask the questions again, just in case someone has plucked up the courage yet, or has had an early swig from the "bottle of courage".

Question 1. Hamas:- terrorist organisation proscribed by the UK's Labour government in 2001.

Is this statement true or false?

Question 2. As a Hamas supporter, please explain why you support an organisation that has committed so many human rights violations, including subjugation of women, selling girls as young as 11 into marriage with men 3 or 4 times older than them and training boys as young as 13 to be soldiers?

If any Hamas supporters could answer these without lying or resorting to the usual whataboutery, I'd be grateful.

Canada, the European Union, Israel, Japan and the United States have designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Safe to say hamas is a terrorist group. But looks like someone disagrees.

With no direct reference to anyone, as I have said further up, I have only referred to Hamas supporters as cowards or terrorists - if you feel this applies to you, please explain why. I haven't referred to anyone on this thread as a racist, but I can see why someone would just chuck that in - it's always worth a try for some whose position is so untenable they have little other recourse

***********************I already said that the remark the poster wrote was offensive to me and maybe others too.**************************

Buffoon is still a derogatory remark whether you measure it by any other standard.

If you are calling out derogatory remark making then I assume (as the other poster did) that you would be setting that to your own standard too?
