Seen a news item on the Hartlepool election.
One guy interviewed, voted tory, because Labour had "trashed' Hartlepool.
Closing the law courts, police station and lack of police.,
But.. central government az i understand it, I.E the Tories!... Had closed the law courts etc.
So, what mindset are voters? Whingy moany lot who get their knickers in a twist and behave kike spoilt brats?

They think national issues like hospitals and prisons are the responsibility of local councils.

You don’t have to pop down the A19 to find out why Hartlepool voted Tory...... Sunderland Council lost 9 Labour councillors to Tories and LibDems ...... the writing was on the wall back in 2019 - without the Brexit Party in the 2019 GE there would have been a Tory MP in one of the Sunderland seats.
Looks like Sunderland has the same kind of electorate as Hartlepool.

Oh and those 2 on The boat...and the caller to lbc who referenced food banks..and the person interviewed who wanted a change...apart from that..no one else was so unaware the gmnt made those types of decisions. |

Hello. Would their opinion make any difference to the results. If we assume that some voters make decisions based on incorrect information, would these votes not just simply cancel out . I am sure that people also vote for Labour based on incorrect information. |

I grew up in hart village,
hartlepool, then moved to Sunderland. You weren't to know that, so not holding that against you.

There has been a narrative in the last few days claiming that the people are Hartlepool are thick, so stop pretending that you haven't seen it. Your was adding to that narrative.
You could have added other voter comments that proved otherwise, but you choose not to. So when you talk about bias, look closer to home.

Hmm.. I think a misunderstanding is in the air.
When I was referring to voters not being informed enough to make a rational / informed choice when voting, and mentioning the guy from hartlepool, i was actually to referring to voters in general, across the entire country ..

Well the Tory councillors will now have to deliver. So they will need to pressure government because if nothing changes who ya gonna blame?
In a way the locals have voted quite smartly. Labour had no power so couldn’t stop central government cuts and in reality neither could local Tories but that truth can’t be allowed by central government to be seen.
The region will get money. It now has too.
