Boris thinks there is a leak within Downing Street and someone has leaked the emails between him and James Dyson and made them public. Apparently he suspects that Dominic Cummings is responsible.
There's no honour between thieves. |

Nonsense, he may go quite soon but that's because he needs the money from speeches and book deals. Nobody has the power to push him out. |

Dont worry... you know I'm tracking this.
Your current prediction of "by end of 2021" is the most recent forecast, having previously been adjusted from "will be gone in 3 months"

Cummings has allies within the Tory party they are plotting to get Boris removed, he will be gone this year, " . I cannot see the Conservative party wanting to get rid of him any time soon. We are world leaders in the Covid 19 vaccination programme and he returned an 80 seat majority in the election It seem that as the other parties have nothing to offer the electorate, all they are able to do is criticise Boris .
In any event , even if he were to be removed from office , he leaves behind a legacy of which he can be proud.
It takes considerable skill to obtain an 80 seat majority, lead a country which is a world leader in the vaccination programme and negotiate a very good deal with the EU.
We can safely ignore all those who criticise Boris . The critics have nothing to bring to the table. Everyone has their faults , it is achievements and success that count. |

Firstly, we aren’t ‘world leaders ‘ in COVID vaccinations
Secondly, getting an 80 seat majority 2 years ago is now irrelevant, and is tiny compared to the majority Blair achieved, I assume you must think that Blair is a far better PM?
Thirdly, Cummings is going to bring Boris down, buckle up Pat, this is going to be a bumpy ride |

Why does a businessman checking with the pm about tax treatment of his workers amount to corruption? Neither boris nor dyson would have gained a thing, the only people to benefit would gave been the patients on the ventilators, glad to see your political hatred is more important to you than saving lives in a pandemic. Had Boris sat back and refused offers from skilled engineers you would have criticised him for that, he answers a few texts and you criticised that, cant win can he |

As yet there is no corruption no matter how much some want there to be and repeating it over and over does not make it true.
there are now 6 enquires going on i shall wait for the results before forming an option as usual. |

"Apparently boris is going to give tax breaks to everyone who worked through the pandemic just to show, he doesnt give preferential treatment to his billionaire mates.
Well done boris
"
The tax breaks you speak of were for workers that would come back into the country from abroad to work on a project that was of national importance at the time, that of producing ventilators for the NHS. As I understand it, Dyson was asking on behalf of his staff whether the 90 day residency/tax could be waved. If a quick answer is needed you go to the top, in this case the PM. I think Dyson was concerned for his workforce as every good employer should be. Unfortunately an employer looking out for his staff has got lost in rhetoric about sleeze. |

Salient points but the facts are that there looks strongly to have been issues where friends and donors had quick access over some tried and tested providers in PPE supply who were ignored, ended up supplying other countries etc..
Granted it was a mess partly down to ignoring previous advice and plans made etc but the playing field wasn't level and it looks sleazy.. |

I'm sure you don't need me to tell you the answer to that Lionel, welcome back by the way.
The point was the leak of a text between Boris and Dyson. Dyson was looking out for his staff. He doesn't employ the NHS, maybe he should he could then look out for them too. We employ the NHS, so maybe we should look out for them. A penny on income tax wouldn't be felt by us all, I'm sure, if we knew that it was going to the NHS staff. But it wouldn't, it would be swallowed by the NHS as a whole.
Not an argument for here as it should be about Dyson and Boris. |

Ty.
The gmnt run the NHS.
His argument was he was given them a tax break as a reward for helping out in the pandemic.
No one else got this reward. The NHS,carers, anyone who worked through it.In fact even if you got a bonus you got taxed on it.
Its another one to add to their long list.

Unfortunately that would be true of any government. I'm one of those, not NHS, that was (lucky?) enough to work through, helped keep the economy going while many, through no fault of their own, were on furlough. So yes, I will also be taxed for working through a pandemic. That is the way of the world.
Turn the argument around. If it came out that thousands more had died from covid because of a lack of ventilators that could have been made in this country by Dyson who would have bought his staff here, but couldn't because they would have been caught in a tax debacle, how would that have gone down?
As it never happened anyway it's a mute point. |

"A businessman texting the pm directly asking him to bypass the tax system is perfectly normal.
Why am I not surprised?"
People in politics do that all the time. Have you been into the Strangers Bar. At any one time at least 10% will be lobbyists seeking the ear of an MP or a private secretary or another. Do you not think that every single government has worked by taking a chap for a drink here or there to test out and cajole and to lobby? If you don't know any of that, you really don't know how your Government or Politics works at all.

I totally agree - but it is the system we have had since the dawn of Parliament. And EVERY government has done it and will continue to do so. But this really did have special circumstances attached to it - He has already said that he spoke to quite a number of industrialists in the same way at the same time.

"Apparently texting the pm and asking him to bend the tax rules is perfectly acceptable "
So which is better getting some desperately needed medical equipment or in some extreme possibility a few quid of tax given up, why shouldn't a high profile businessman text the PM ? Are you claiming Dyson would have gained himself from the contact, let's compare past PMs and leaders of the oppositions who contacted present ones or other world leaders to push their agendas, people talk and discuss things, once again did either have a penny to gain ? |

Its truly also heartwarming to hear of a businessman who, when we are in the middle of a devestating pandemic, where over 120,000 people have lost their lives, his major concern in financial.
I see a knighthood coming his way. |

It wasnt for his benefit but his workers, the development of the equipment cost him 20 million so money was hardly his first concern, he took no public money, are you critical of phizer for the millions they are making ? |

Did his company develop one ? Yes, was it needed in the end? No, however had things turned out differently then they may well have been, you have criticised the government many times for not having stocks of ppe etc and yet when they get a company that develops many new gadgets to develop a new ventilator that might well have saved many lives you complain about that too, you and Lionel need to learn that sometimes when in a hole it's best to stop digging. |

He produced a ventilator which wasn't needed in the end. So he effectively threw 20m down the pan and hasn't moaned about it once.

It kinda went like this -
The UK say they may not have enough ventilators so a fella springs into action and creates one with 20m of his own money. The UK then say we don't need them and said fella says 'ok no problem'
In the meantime he was asking questions about his workers should he need to bring them in to produce these said items.
What exactly has he done wrong? |

And also bearing in mind that he was asked first by the PM (as many other companies were at the time) It would make sense to have his number, personal friend or not. I'm sure all of those other companies in the UK would have a direct feed back to the PM at the time too. |

It is worthless, where are they now?
They were given away weren't they, for free? As I recall. Could be wrong.
Nope scrub that. He spent £20 million on the production of but never manufactured ventilators. So he wasted the money, but as another poster said "has never complained".
O dear, what a fuck up
Why is it a fuck up? People put money into developing products that never get to production everyday.
Its called R&D. Part of business.
Fair enough, nothing like wasting £20 million on a product nobody wants ,
Its small change to him. Have you never wasted £20 or even £100?
Pretty sure we all have."
That’s ok then , I wonder why Boris asked him to make the ventilators then decided that he no longer wanted them? |

"And also bearing in mind that he was asked first by the PM (as many other companies were at the time) It would make sense to have his number, personal friend or not. I'm sure all of those other companies in the UK would have a direct feed back to the PM at the time too."
Why? |

But here is a really pertinent fact that you just won't like - Dyson never benefitted at all by being called by the PM to take part. So if the PM was doing favours for his friend why didn't he ensure that the Dyson Ventilators were picked over the JCB Ventilators? As far as I'm aware Lord Balford hasn't declared a personal friendship with the PM?

You need to keep up with the news. All the info is already in committee after Boris said give it to them in full in the House two days ago. |

Cummings is an ideas man. Nothing more. He wants everybody else to do the running but never himself. And when nobody will do his bidding he gets all upset and takes the ball out of the park while harbouring thoughts of nasty revenge. I would no more trust Cummings than I would a smiling Wolf. |

Especially as he was ‘sacked’ by Princess Nut Nuts I dont think she is part of the government how exactly did she do that or are we back in the realms of your fantasies again?
Boris is big chums with Cummings, Princess nut nuts doesn’t like Cummings, Boris is no longer chums with Cummings, Cummings is sacked, Cummings is now turning on Boris ?
