A new congresswoman walking through New York promoting community vegetable plots:
“But when you really think about it — when someone says that it’s ‘too hard’ to do a green space that grows Yucca instead of, I don’t know, cauliflower or something — what you’re doing is that you’re taking a colonial approach to environmentalism, and that is why a lot of communities of color get resistant to certain environmentalist movements because they come with the colonial lens on them,” Ocasio-Cortez said."
Personally I can't stand cauliflower, maybe we can just all agree to cancel it? |

Wierd racism take.
Sounds to me like the broad point she's trying to get across is that environmental initiatives are too often high-handed paternalistic dictats from authority which don't take the wishes of local people into account.
You know - a conservative take
I'd want to see the full context before I completely commit to this being a position that could just as have easily been made by a conservative - but taken at face value it looks pretty clear to me. |

I got her point,its not indicative to this land mass.... so lets stop buying oranges in UK, rather than r*ping the food produced from another area, taking it coz we can afford to,.....it's sick!

she didn't go there and opined that it's up to individual communities what they grow or even if they do it at all.
It's there in black and white - it's not difficult to understand.
