"Supposing nichola sturgeon wins an independence vote...
What currency would they use?
The eu has already turned them down so what would happen next? "
They would pay a fee to the Bank of England and continue to use the pound (£).
They would then apply to join the EU and if/when accepted, adopted the Euro (€). |

They can use any currency they choose or they can continue to use Scottish pounds and pence and peg it to either GBP or even the Euro. They can also officially, or unofficially use another currency.
Using another country’s currency is not unusual. Many countries use the USD as their currency. |

I think if they had sorted out their financial plans in time for indy ref 1 they would have won. Can't see them making that mistake again. Yes they can use the pound or any other currency they choose if they keep substantial reserves of it |

Yes them and us ....it is the SNP propoganda machine that tries to tell me i am different from those who live 100miles away....Well we are not , there are arses on both sides of the border. But the ties that bind us are far stronger than those which divide us. |

the big question is - how would it affect the remainder of the UK (incl NI).
I think that’s going to be the biggest question in the politics section when SNP sweep the board at the election. |

Each to their own but I object to the them and us brigade trying to convince people we're all one nation when clearly they don't believe that. |

Surely of people were trying to convince you 'we were all one nation' there would be no 'them', only 'us' |

The comment I responded to perpetrate them and us. |

Well other than football and a few other sports we are always team GB. When you have a passport it says we are one nation. Also on your official documents it says we are one nation again.
But you choose to highlight those who want to divide and create turmoil. To listen to the malcontents who want to drive wedges and peddle hate.We are better than that surely |

Those ties that bind us took away the freedom to live and work in Europe. Took away educational rights for students to travel and study in European countries.
Ties that have the potential to return NI to the heady 70s of bombings, shootings and riots. Ties that have us trying to scrabble and negotiate new trade deals with countries that were former colonies (reparation prices/taxes). Ties that allow the Tory money grubbing machine hand out £m in contracts to mates because they only way to ride out the effects of brexit is to be rich.
Yeah those ties which feel more like shackles.
Not one of the commonwealth countries is regretting their independence. |
