"Should we have an independent probe into the handling of the pandemic as soon as the lockdown is lifted?"
Yes, mistakes were made that need to be learnt from |

We should definitely have an inquiry. How and when are a bit harder to judge.
If lockdown is lifted but we're 'still in the middle of it' ie. infections rise exponentially then maybe it won't be the time. |

The blame will be laid. It will be denied and sloped shoulders all around .
Will anyone be held to account?
Yes we need an enquiry but we never punish or reprimand the guilty.
The expenses scandal occurred and I think two MPs prosecuted . Recommendation in 2009 from Chris Kelly on reform. Action - NONE .
Today’s total exceeds £100m and still family employed .
We need to hold these people to account !! Blair starts a war no action taken even though people died. MOD send soldiers to that war in land rovers not fit for IEDs . Who was sacked no one.
Deaths from Covid, we know who fucked up but not one person will be fined or go to jail even though innocent people die.
Who at the health department said send the elderly home ?
Who didn’t order PPE when they were told we have no supplies for a possible pandemic?
If someone dies in a factory there’s a good chance someone is getting a fine or jail time .
These guys kill thousands and nothing is done.

"Absolutely, especially as there is strong evidence the virus came from the Wuhan lab.
Those responsible should not get away with genocide."
I think it will look at how the pandemic was handled here. |

"He was asked yesterday and said he didmt want to divert resources.
What resources would be carrying out the enquiry?"
I think that means that he hasn't figured out how to monetise the enquiry for his friends yet. |

So because the crises is still ongoing...we cannot look at how we were prepared for it?
You and a previous poster seem to be under the mistaken assumption that a uk review will have something to do with china

I’m sure there will be publicans and and jewellers up and down the country willing to be paid £6k a day or £1000 per question to ask their customers how they felt it went?

Of course it has to do with china, atm it is assumed it came from there, either accidentally or otherwise, we need to learn the lessons of that and how we and the rest of the world deal with it to reduce the chances of another virus starting there again, this isnt the first one, we then can move onto to OUR reaction to it, we all know the result you want and who will be found guilty so why bother having it in the first place.

Blaming China works though. Trump did it, and we can expect the Tories to do the same.
Any investigation will be pointless anyway. No one will face any consequences, maybe there will be a cabinet reshuffle, and some blame pointed at China/EU/Corbyn etc. |

I've said it for ages ,I think Hancock will be served up,and it will stop there.
I'd just like to see that buffoon made to answer a question for once in his life. |

The disgraced WHO have already investigated China over the Wuhan lab virus release and have, suprise suprise, not found any evidence from their chief funder.
You don't bite the hand that feeds you.
When I say investigate, I mean China told the WHO that they've investigated themselves and found nothing wrong. |

We need to learn the lessons from the pandemic and that includes how we reacted to the original outbreak, and how we stop it again or at least limit it next time.
Is the grenfell tower investigation looking into the fire from the second it started or into the background IE the cladding and how safety tests were or werent done properly, also into the cause of the fire itself.
