The country had planned a shutdown on top of existing lockdown restrictions with all shops closed.
However, the move had proved controversial as there had been no discussion before the plans emerged in the early hours of Tuesday.

Loads of people here criticised boris for allowing us to plan for xmas, when that was changed they then criticised him for allowing it at all, now they are praising merkel for changing her mind and allowing easter to happen in 10 days in the face of numbers rocketing in germany I believe a german minister said numbers were rising exponentially.
