He is planning to launch his own social media platform within the coming months and it set to be a game changer. I reckon that his platform will be more popular than the big 4, what do you think about it? |

Great idea
Platform name suggestion #1 - Trumpet
Messages can be called "Trumps"
Those who message are "Trumpers"
If you break the rules you will be muted:
Wah-Wah mute for a mild infringement
Cup mute for a medium infringement
Practice mute - banned

Exactly. In the wake of the Capitol Hill riot there’s no space for conservatives on ‘normal’ social media. I said at the time the America first/MAGA movement wasn’t going anywhere. Be interesting to see how quickly trumps platform grows. His approval was over 97% within the Republican Party after his return speech at CPAC. |

What happened to Gab, Rumble, MeWe, and the other sites that tolerate hate speech?
And why can't republicans use the usual social media sites?
Aside from Trump's name being on it, is this going to be any different to Gab? |

You know why. We’ve discussed cancel culture before. Why would conservatives continue to use platforms like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook where they risk censorship, demonetisation and have to curtail what they say if there would be another platform specifically for them? Trumps name being on the platform will be enough to pull in users. He’ll be a lightening rod. I don’t think it’ll be any different to Gab. Probably just bigger and more stable thanks to the money behind Trumps brand. |

I think it's unfair to suggest that conservatives are primarily the people using social media for hate speech. Surely most people with a wide range of opinions can post on the usual sites.
Although it's a good point, do you genuinely think that these people want an echo chamber, with no one to challenge their views. I don't know.
I don't know how much the Trump name will bring in for none US far right people. But for sure, in the states, I can see his name being on it, being a big draw. Especially if that's his primary outlet.

The appeal for shitposters with trump is international. Look at the statue of him as the Emperor of Mankind at a parade in Poland
I’m not suggesting only conservatives are engaging in hate speech. I see plenty of identitarian left wingers engaging in what is by their own definition ‘hate speech’. I personally just think a lot of conservatives (small ‘c’ was deliberate), are sick to the back teeth of being accused of being x y or z for expressing socially conservative views on mainstream social media. I’m not saying they want an echo chamber either. I love heated debates and fiery conversations, but I’ve lost so many people I would call friends in the last 5 years. All of them were ideologically ‘left’. It seems to be just one side of the spectrum deleting folk out of their lives for daring to think for themselves. It’s created an atmosphere where conservatives are afraid to express themselves. It’s tragic. |

Interesting. I have a lot to say on this topic. But I would derail the thread.
I guess the most interesting point is that people feel like Trump's name being associated with this new platform is the key.
I'm assuming they will take a relaxed view to "socially conservative views" and will ban, block or cancel anyone who opposes those sentiments. |

I’d agree with that. I don’t think it’ll take long at all before ideologically ‘left’ people will be booted from the platform. |

Which is fine, if that's the aim.
Somewhere for healthy debate would be good. I don't use social media much, so I'm probably not the target audience though. |

Facebook and twitter banning people for memes. Hubby got banned for 60 days recently for something he posted back in November before Thanksgiving. It was a meme of Jeffery dahmer it read you can't tell me how many people I can have over for dinner. Did it warrant a 60 day ban ? Facebook shutdown alot of veteran pages because of dark humor posts. The platform he creating is going to be big. |

That the issue 1 person's joke is the other person's offense. So just the people that like dark humor it is a coping mechanism for some. Have your own social media. Hence why you see all the arrests at the capital were x military and law enforcement. One of the reasons it happened. Censorship. So in order to be part of a society that has no clue of what that humor can't provide. Why not make another platform that caters to them. It's a outlet sometimes for demons some are fighting from within. Rather them post a meme than take their own life. |

This is hilariously funny when you think that Trump will be moderating replies on his own social media outlet.
It's sounding like a well-balanced outlet for news and muse in a World devoid mostly of either.
I may join and help make trump sour grapes again. |
