10 hrs from the op and no sign of the uk haters, perhaps they are beginning to see the light.
While not everything is perfect things are looking up, perhaps from mid 2121 it will be like the 1960's and everyone looking forward |

Why would anyone “hate” news like this? I sometimes think some people that their own warped way of thinking is shared by everyone.
My only comment to this is that it is not really news is it? It’s common sense.
As the vaccination rollout continues snd summer approaches, optimism is on the rise everywhere. |

"Something we seem to be very very good at.
And proved to be right at every stage of planning and execution."
I hope your right, according to the NHS we are going to have a significant reduction in vaccine supplies |

Lots of money pouring into the City, lots of business confidence out there.
You got any references for that assertion?"
Record levels of venture capital investments last year. Start ups and ipos queueing up to get listed, with some big names choosing London.
Plenty of evidence out there. |

So I read it and refers exclusively to tech investments snd clearly shows that foreign investment FELL between 2019 and 2020.
Whilst there is no mention of anyone queuing or record IPOS listings, it is a good news story.
It is unfortunately though not what you said.
It would be fairly stereotypical of a Brexiter to announce the worlds largest oak tree having just planted a sapling.
You really don’t have to inject a good news story with steroids and add a bit of make-believe to sell it to anyone. A good news story sells itself. |

Other evidence is available. Feel free to go look for it. You may even surprise yourself.
Start with Deliveroo. |

Well I guess an expansion of the gig economy and low paid, poorly represented, lower-end sl4ve (ha ha Fab bans the actual word) workers was actually one of the post-Brexit predictions.
You do know that no sensible person was, or is expecting the world to fall apart because of Brexit? There are going to good news stories and there are going to be bad news stories, but overall the trajectory of growth fell behind in 2016 and has not - and will not recover for very obvious reasons.
It is simply not possible to ideologically cut yourself off from your closest trading partner and expect that things will be the same. The Nationalist nonsense of Brexit for example will not permit Boris Johnson to ally himself with the EU and for the EU, U.K., US and Canada to broker a powerful N Atlantic trade agreement. No, we have to do our very own special agreement which, by default cannot carry the same weight of benefit as it would if we allied with the EU.
In as much as there is no need for Remainers to religiously post negative Brexit stories, by the same token it is equally pointless to pick out a good news story and try to associate it with Brexit. These stories will continue and you can choose to believe the unsubstantiated hype that we will be great because everyone needs us more than we need them. Or, you can look at the facts of the situation overall and try to assess what the direction of travel might be using facts, logic and reasonable assumptions.
I personally only see a downward trend in everything - including as you have pointed out a strengthening of the gig economy. There simply are no massive good news stories about Brexit success and there are no massive companies queuing to get into Brexit Britain.
Success is not a sectoral good news story, it isn’t even a number of good news stories - it is a real feeling of positive movement in the economy... and that is not happening now, nor are there any economic pulls to suggest it might happen anytime soon. |

I'm afraid people are just reading the headline and not the entire story.
You obviously didn't get the point about Deliveroo. Lets try Trustpilot instead. Maybe Dr Martens. Moonpig?
Ask yourself why these Companies want to list in London, and not Amsterdam or Frankfurt. The increase in liquidity and funds flowing into London from IPOs, is reported to be the best since 2008.
Do you know what a Unicorn is? A decacorn? How does London compare to the rest of the world? How many more unicorns will London attract this year?
I stand by what I stated. London is officially the worlds number 2 financial centre, is attractive to business and inward investment. This year could see record levels.

Perspective:
During the middle of a World Pandemic positive business news is even better news than had we all not been in a World Pandemic.
China's output is reported to be on average 34% since they have opened up again.
The forecast for Europe (I said Europe and not the EU) by Morgan Stanley is 'contraction' till at least Q4. We will see. (Only a forecast).

I won £34 on the Lottery the other evening, in the morning I had a bill for £70 to pay. Some people would say. . . well isn't that just typical. . . I said 'Only £36 to pay'
Positive is where you find it.
