So what do we think us coming in the budget?

I think the following:

Corp tax will go up to 21/22%, not the 24/25% predicted...and businesses will go "phew".

Basic Income tax will stay the same...but personal allowances will not rise. Higher Income tax rate may rise.

Possibly reduce VAT on eating out.

Increase "green taxes".

Possible alcohol tax increase for shop bought and off-sales....balanced by a decrease in duty of on-sales.

Increase in fuel duty.

Stamp duty back....but at a reduced rate...may increase the thresholds.

All companies and self-employed to become VAT registered irrespective of turnover.

Active drive toward "cashless" society.

Changes to business rates or taxation somehow to try to make the high street more competitive against on-line businesses...or specific on-line sales tax.

Increase in CHT and inheritance tax.

I know what you mean....always prefer cash on a night out...when the cash in your pocket has gone, it's gone.

This will be a stimulus budget but with a forecast of future tax rises.

Get the economy goung first, then start to claw back the money.

And there is a sideshow surrounding this budget, with factions of the Labour party arguing over tax policy.

You couldn't make it up Anneliese Dodds was opposing a corporation tax rise on marr on Sunday. Her reason "he is only putting it up so he can take it down before the next election". Labour have lost all credibility they are now against the things they have always been for.

The abolishment of cash will be the end of democracy . If money is only available digital , it will be others but you who determine where , how much for what etc you can spend your money . This to the extend that your access to it can be terminated with setting a tick beside a dara field should your ideas , opinions or ambitions conflict current mainstream in power. Digital money is just another element to make Orwell’s 1984 a reality - tho they are quite far already . The digitalized currency will also make transparent how much money you make . And since banks do not need to remunerate you in form of interests on your saving for providing them with liquidity has they hold the monopoly over the storage of digital money , they will rip Sean and Deirdre bare of their cash assets as you have no alternative to store it . That’s why it is so important to keep cash circulating and to pay with plastic as less as possible

First time I seen Labour not wanting it to rise. Covid has certainly changed things

I’d also scrap the BBC but still charge a tv licence fee, it would raise £3.7 billion pounds a year & could be put to the covid debt instead x
