You profess to be a great advocate for transparency, scrutiny and accountability.

Without referencing any other government or leader, have a read around what is going on, regarding the FM and the Scottish government, and then tell me the events don't concern you in the slightest.

Sadly flag desecration is not an offence in the UK.

In France you can be fined 7500 Euros AND even desecrating the Brussels cabal flag is an offence.

She should as a political leader be investigated on a broader point

of Sedition and Assisting the enemy, with a life sentence.

What a lot of nonsense.

The Union flag is only up one day a year on Remembrance Day. That’s not a new thing.

The EU flag is staying up and is alongside the Saltire.

Not that much of a story. Why not concentrate on the. findings of illegality of Hancock or of the Union advisor leaving after two weeks or Patel’s all edged bullying under scrutiny one again.

That excuse of a woman does not speak for the majority of Scots, she is clearly unhinged and being spurred on by her husband who has a lot to gain financially if Scotland miraculously re-enters Europe. I believe she is dangerous and should be removed from power before she does any more damage to the country.

This is very true, the Tories don’t need the Scottish vote, but Labour do. Scottish independence would work out nicely for a mainly English Tory government in the rest of the UK, it’s why I find it crazy that some English Labour supporters want Scottish independence.

You do realise that Irish played a major role in the British empire you are referring to don’t you? Same as Scottish & Welsh, after all it wasn’t just the English or the English empire x I know people try to score points about using empire but the British empire seems about the right name as it was built by the people of the British Isles, I just thought I’d try to add some facts x

Is it not a democracy- most votes wins?

What is it with people who don’t understand how that works?

Scots are pretty politically savvy in general and they do realise that political decisions are made in the Scottish parliament rather than at the whim of a mere woman.

I have a very uncomfortable feeling that the vast amount of comments about her on this thread are inherently sexist- she is a strong, intelligent and successful woman in a position of power and that is not how world order should be. The fact that England has bumbling fools of men just emphasises that.

To speak of Parliament making decisions and then speak of England (it's actually the UK) having bumbling fools of men as an argument for sexism isn't entirely accurate.

I used England and bumbling men advisedly because none of this thread is actually about facts, it’s about perceptions and those are led by media exposure. A strong woman vs a chaotic male presentation upsets some people’s inherent view that she should be at home supporting her husband.

I'm not disputing that.

We could go round in circles all day about percentage of votes.

I've seen many Labour supporters say the Conservatives only got x% of registered voters. And many remainers say Leave only got x% of vote.

I was merely pointing out that it's not the 'people of Scotland' being that less than a 3rd of registered voters actually voted SNP.

"Is it not a democracy- most votes wins?

What is it with people who don’t understand how that works?

Scots are pretty politically savvy in general and they do realise that political decisions are made in the Scottish parliament rather than at the whim of a mere woman.

I have a very uncomfortable feeling that the vast amount of comments about her on this thread are inherently sexist- she is a strong, intelligent and successful woman in a position of power and that is not how world order should be. The fact that England has bumbling fools of men just emphasises that.

Tbf I think it's more to do with the fact that she quite often makes boris look even more foolish.

She is coherent, competent and can string a sentence together.

We have had threads about her painting her house and not wearing a mask at a funeral.

But apparently this is due to a genuine concern for the Scottish people.

No, she is smug and condescending when asked a difficult question or one she can't answer, with her little laugh, as if the interviewer is stupid. Awful person and being completely dishonest about most things. Scotland will be well rid of her

Well the people of scotland appear to disagree.

Around 30% of Scots voted SNP"

Where do you get 30 % from?

It also says more people on the day didn’t vote SNP, by a greater percentage than those who did vote for them on the day. (Westminster election)

The Holyrood election - only 56% of the nation turned out to vote.

Percentage of the vote share doesn’t really suggest SNP are resoundingly popular in Scotland

I voted for independence. I thought she would be a good leader.

But just like her colleagues in Westminster, she has failed to perform.

Scotland has loads of other issues that need addressing, yet her bias seems on pushing for independence.

"So pray tell...what is the exact point to all this?

I don't agree with your statement about 'the people of Scotland'

If you read my first comment you'd know this

The people of Scotland voted her in.

Quite possibly the most pointless thread ever.

But you consistently argue that 'the people of the UK' didn't vote to leave the EU.

Yet, you refuse to see my issue with your statement.

"

Point out where I said those words please.

A thread about a flag being raised gets turned into another pop at remainers and we get the blame.

This place gets better and better.

When Scotland goes independent they'll be back in the EU as soon as possible. Good luck to them.

It already has been apart from one day a year.

But I'd ask why? It's still the union flag, and Scotlad is still part of the union."

Where do you get your info about 1 day per year ?

Leavers aren't whinging about this, they have repeatedly said good luck to them if that's what they want.

But 1 - it's very unlikely they will vote for independence

And 2 - even if they did, it would take years for them to be allowed into the EU, if ever. The SNP are trying to con the Scottish people

The only day it's flown according to Scotland own flag policy is Rememberance Day

They have the support of the Scottish people and if that's who they want in power thats upto them.

"That excuse of a woman does not speak for the majority of Scots, she is clearly unhinged and being spurred on by her husband who has a lot to gain financially if Scotland miraculously re-enters Europe. I believe she is dangerous and should be removed from power before she does any more damage to the country.

Did the SNp.not win more seats than everyone else?"

That doesn’t much tbf when it comes to the SNP wanting independence. More votes went to the unionist parties than went to the nationalist parties.

Only 2 parties support independence whereas the unionist vote is split between conservative, labour, Lib Dem’s, UKIP etc etc etc

There will be a few voters who vote for labour, lib dems etc who would vote for independence but I can pretty guarantee from a large number of people in my workplace and family that for some strange reason there’s far more voters who vote snp who are opposed to independence than vote for unionist parties but would vote yes

Independence is a different issue.

It was about the election and whichever way people try to dress it up,they won more seats than anyone else.

Why should you? I don't know if you know, but the Scottish people elect representatives to the UK parliament in Westminster and unless they elect people from the Labour Party then it is unlikely that Labour will ever gain power again. But as I said, that must be what you want, just admit it. And our concerns are Scotlands concerns
