There are all kinds of users on there not specifically far right.

I think if Trump thinks that this will benefit him then he is more of an idiot than most of us would first think.
Every word he says on that platform will be framed in the fact that it's . . .
"Widely described as a haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, white nationalists, and the alt-right".
He is giving his speech a background context in which his critics and Law enforcement will clap their hands in glee at. |

For sure. Brexiteers are all different.
If I understand GAB. They don't delete race hate and other such content. |

anyone who would choose to visit gab after learning that american christo-fascist andrew torba's social media site that hosts anti-semitic terrorists responsible for murdering people in their place of worship etc, is quite rightly open to searching questions on their personal morality and should be prepared to have their fascistic tendancies thoroughly examined. |

Why ?
Does that mean that if someone goes to a county that has some far right supporters is tarred wit the same brush ?
Not everyone who looks around gets either radicalised or is looking to be! |

I said kicking people off the mainstream will just have them creating their own echo Chambers elsewhere.
At least on twitter they are monitored and have opposition, and at least some capacity for debate for both sides.
Who's challenging their ideas and notions now?
The one good thing about this is that the right will start to self regulate at some point, they aren't a monolith, and the more extreme of them will get shunned and identified. |

I understand the point you're making about ideas going unchallenged.
I'm not sure that makes any difference though. Anyone who thinks Trump is a good guy who talks sense. Isn't likely to change their mind when presented with a counter argument on social media. In my opinion. |

Sorry stupid nails want to type for me . . .
The three word sound-bite is actually practising the art of 'people don't need to think' = 'They just need to keep this in mind' and 'everything will be fine'.
'Hands - face - sausages - from outer-space'.
Too many people don't need more than that to make their ongoing choice. |

You are right with isn't likely but that leaves a small chance, there are many positives to the notion of the right and left meeting at least on some issues in the middle. At least with conversation or even argument there is a chance. |

They will be monitored on Gab " Them being monitored isn't enough, the only way to combat extremism on both ends is to put them both in the same space, let them argue and debate. There are prominent people on both sides who will talk to each other, and if they talk then maybe the horrendous divide through western society on so many issues will start to lessen.

It's hit and miss, depending on the subject, some just fuck you off as soon as you say something they don't agree with, but for the most part people put across their thoughts and vice versa, sometimes there is middle ground to be found, sometimes not, but at least the conversation was had? |

Really? I very much doubt that, it’s like ‘debating’ on here , people have their views and a face less person on the internet isn’t going to change them. Social media isn’t a place for debate, it is just used for certain people to promote their ideology anyone apposed gets ignored or abused. You should join Gab |

You can doubt it all you want. But it happens. I do agree that social media is more of a hotbed for argument than actual discussion but there are many people who will sit down and talk with the other side after clashing on social media. The two sides need to talk, it's as simple as that. |

Yeah, I'd never say there was zero chance.
Small snippets of text like on here, or on Fab/Twitter/Facebook, don't really give the space for a reasoned and full discussion.
There are plenty of people who just want to argue and call people names, that soon grinds people down to either join them or just give up.
Anyway, I understand the argument you're making. I agree it's a valid point of view.
It's not black and white. |
