Whatever happens to this story, I can’t see why she should worry. Gone are the days when politicians used to leave office and resign. Not one of Boris’s cabinet members has been sacked despite their incompetence or the numerous dodgy stories. The only thing that can make you lose your job in today’s political world is to put your hand on a woman’s knee or shag somebody you shouldn’t have. Apart from that everything else is acceptable.
I can’t see Sturgeon be in trouble about this. And even if she was the feelings are so strong in Scotland at the moment that the desire for independence is probably much stronger than Sturgeon’s persona. |

Panelbase reported that, despite Sturgeon’s high personal approval ratings in the pandemic, lying to parliament was seen as beyond the pale, with a 68-32 split in favour of her stepping down.
