"This woman seems to talk a lot of common sense, which is very refreshing and unusual these days. I know the politics site is very woke and I don't expect many to agree but I don't care. "

"oh boy...
I don't even want to know why you find such a toxic person "refreshing" but interested to see what others think of her..
*grabs popcorn...*" why toxic ? I think she is spot on in regard to alleged police brutality and the problems facing the black community. |

Just like Don Lemon tried to wake black people up when he said things like stop having so many kids and committing crimes, blah blah blah, Candace O speaks to people of her same race about what they should be doing aside from looking for free handouts. I don’t see anything wrong with that. |

So much for my popcorn...
Now there are a couple of things that I agree with her but police brutality isn't one of them. Also, I don't have much time for people who claim they haven't experienced racism yet filed a lawsuit on the grounds of racial discrimination and then awarded nearly $40K in damages and then attacks the group that helped her win the case.
The thing that bugs me is that when we talk about racial issues, her name gets brought up every time because she validates people's current bias and opinion. It's funny that people can look her up in the states but struggle to find Akala, Reni Eddo-Lodge, David Olusoga and Afua Hirsch who are all based here in the UK. If you can listen to Candace then you can look up these people too. |

"Why would I care what an American thinks? Is she commenting on issues here, or in the US?"
Stateside. Though I don't know her views on international affairs. It would be nothing more than twisted curiosity for me. |

She’s a great woman who I often agree with.
I have said this on my Twitter many times only to be called a c**n by fellow black people, and in the next breath they’ll say they’re anti racist.
She suffers a lot of abuse herself and just takes it on the chin, I admire her, however I do think some people use her to say “I agree, see she says what I’m saying” just because she’s a black woman. |

"I actually don't have any problems at all with the word "nationalism". I think that the definition gets poisoned by elitists that actually want globalism. Globalism is what I don't want. Whenever we say "nationalism" the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler. You know, [Hitler] was a national socialist, but if Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, okay, fine. The problem is that he wanted—he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize. He wanted everybody to be German, everybody to be speaking German. Everybody to look a different way. That's not, to me, that's not nationalism."

Personally for me it’s her no fucks given attitude.
Her confidence to actually state her opinion and state it loudly knowing full well there’s a lot of people out there who will not only abuse her for being a woman, but abuse her for being black and being a Republican.
I love the fact she isn’t afraid to say what she thinks regardless of how vile some people on the opposing political spectrum are. I love the fact that she is outspoken and doesn’t fit into the box that some like black people to fit into, I love how she takes on the internalised racism she gets day in day out from so called tolerant people.
I love that she sees people as people and not their race and that they should vote a certain way because of their ethnicity.
As a woman who has had an abortion, her views on abortion do not trigger me or offend me. She’s well within her rights to have her views, and after my experience I find myself agreeing with what some who are pro-life say.

So first and foremost its on account of identity rather than content? You've no issue with the fact that covid denying and anti vaccine conspiracy theories have cost people their health and lives?
IS there nothing something ridiculous saying that Hitler was fine enacting fascism and genocide within Germany but uncool with him exporting his ideology?
Are you aware her qualifying her remarks on Hitler was after she was played a recording of her own words when she appeared before US Congress?
Should her opinions on abortion prevent others from exercising their own choices? |

It’s on content also.
I’d be here all day if I explained the topics I agree with her on.
Feel free to send a message if you’re actually interested in knowing “why”, which I don’t think is this case here.
I’m not into political back and forth on why I agree with someone or why I have the views I do, as they never end nicely I find, I’m always tolerant of others views and their right to think differently.
It’s others and their lack of tolerance towards my views that is usually the issue. |

I can't mind read, so I don't know.
What I can see is that most Republicans seem very comfortable tolerating racism or pretending it doesn't exist. |

Not even just republicans. If you’re conservative or even slightly right of centre you’re described as a racist.
Or in my case “The white mans whore” “House worker” “Bed wench” and all the rest that go with it including “C**n”.
Some of the most conservative people in this world are Africans, and yet people are astounded by black people being conservative or republican, it comes naturally to African people especially since their households are overwhelmingly conservative.
Surely it’s racist to assume a person has to think a certain way due to their ethnicity, no? |

First don't make assumption about why I'm asking what exactly appeals to you about a far right, conspiracy theorist. To me the only unique thing about Candace Owen can be summed up in two words, 'she's black'. Anyone else coming out with her talking points would just be another far right figure.
If you're reluctant to explain your position thats fine. But I'll leave you with some food for thought.
"Less well known [than other paradoxes Popper discusses] is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to k1dnaping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal."

"She's an awful person who is grifting to make money telling right wing people what they want to hear - that racism isn't a problem, that Black people are to blame for what US society does to them.
So any republican is a rascist in your eyes ?
Not even just republicans. If you’re conservative or even slightly right of centre you’re described as a racist.
Or in my case “The white mans whore” “House worker” “Bed wench” and all the rest that go with it including “C**n”.
Some of the most conservative people in this world are Africans, and yet people are astounded by black people being conservative or republican, it comes naturally to African people especially since their households are overwhelmingly conservative.
Surely it’s racist to assume a person has to think a certain way due to their ethnicity, no? "
I agree I know plenty of "Black " Republicans that get called all sorts of names because of their views. It's horrible. |

"First don't make assumption about why I'm asking what exactly appeals to you about a far right, conspiracy theorist. To me the only unique thing about Candace Owen can be summed up in two words, 'she's black'. Anyone else coming out with her talking points would just be another far right figure.
If you're reluctant to explain your position thats fine. But I'll leave you with some food for thought.

I’m not reluctant, I simply won’t go on a back and forth about politics is on a swingers site with someone who clearly has a strong opinion towards someone I happen to agree with on things.
It will never end happily since you’ve made your view clear.
As I said, feel free to message if you’re actually interested in why... if you don’t want to for whatever reason, that’s fine. I’ll assume you weren’t asking out of curiosity.

It’s interesting because you’ll find those who call themselves “anti racist” or any other similar word don’t seem to fight against the racial abuse towards black conservatives/republicans as quick as they do others....
Sometimes they endorse it actually.
A true anti racist doesn’t need to state they’re anti racist, they’d also stand against all forms of racism, not just racism towards people they agree with. |

Sorry, I meant swingers forum.
Heated debates (especially politics and especially debates that talk about race) often get threads locked up quickly, so I tend to steer clear of that. |

But that's the point on here they try and silence your opinion by intimidation statistics and what other people say and do. No individuality anymore. The media says so so it must be true. I see different every day. You have my back I got yours. As 1 race not subdivision. |

It's quite interesting that right wing people fundamentally don't seem to understand what political opinions actually are.
Political opinions are almost always moral decisions. They're not the equivalent of what pizza topping is best or who was the best James Bond.
If you hold an opinion that I believe is morally wrong I'm under no obligation to respect or accept it.
Further, people telling you that your opinions are wrong or harmful is not 'bullying'.
Grow up, and try actually defending your opinions. Don't hide behind the false idea that all opinions are worthy of respect. |

Way to prove my point.
You think 'name calling' (which I didn't even do) is more important than the actual morality and real world effects of politics.
And I thought it was the left that was supposed to be the snowflakes. |

I won’t interact with the other person as they seem to have blocked me after I stated I like Candace Owens...
I know it’s against the rules to interact with those who have blocked you, I do find it amusing though when one says “defend your opinions” but blocks anyone with an opposing view...
That is their right though!
This is what I mean about political debates, they always get heated because some (on both sides) cannot stand others having different opinions.
Sometimes it isn’t worth it. |

According to a 2017 report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, "of the 85 violent extremist incidents that resulted in death since September 12, 2001, right-wing violent extremist groups were responsible for 62 (73 percent) while radical Islamist violent extremists were responsible for 23 (27 percent). The total number of fatalities is about the same for far right-wing violent extremists and radical Islamist violent extremists over the approximately 15-year period (106 and 119, respectively). However, 41 percent of the deaths attributable to radical Islamist violent extremists occurred in a single event—an attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida in 2016."[8][9]
In 2018, most ideologically motivated murders in the United States of America were linked to right-wing extremism.[10]
As of 2020, right-wing extremist terrorism accounted for the majority of terrorist attacks and plots in the US[11] and has killed more people in the continental United States since the September 11 attacks than Islamic terrorism.[12]

Say but both sides doesn't change that right wing violent extremism is responsible for nearly 75% of the incidents that resulted in death, with Islamic extremism being responsible for the remaining. If you think that citing that right wing extremism is the main terrorist threat facing the USA is being in an intellectual bubble, I got news for you, it's reality. That is by far the biggest threat. So called patriots that are beyond contempt.

As of 2020, right-wing extremist terrorism accounted for the majority of terrorist attacks and plots in the US[11] and has killed more people in the continental United States since the September 11 attacks than Islamic terrorism.[12]
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_in_the_United_States
You were saying?
That there are extremists on both sides. Not just 1. We having body count discussion now to appease your intellectual need ? No extremism should exist no matter the cause. No riots no deaths no destruction. Period. If you think otherwise you are the problem. Get out of your well educated bubble. Evil exists on both sides.
"
See you label patriots they are extremists just like Antifa. I am a patriot I don't believe in the far right as alot of us do not. But that is the problem it's a form of derogatory statement that the name Patriot is evil now. This is why their ranks are growing. The majority arrested were x military that believe in our country. I see it everyday on veteran forums. Guess what all races not just white. People asking themselves why did I serve if I can't even stop the destruction at home. Justice for all not the chosen few. |

Just dipping my toes in here for a second then I’m out again.
This is exactly what concerns me about closing down the debate and pushing fringe groups into the darker corners of the internet by censoring them. Experience tells me the left and right are both capable of violence. The difference I’ve found is the right (the extreme right I mean, not just anyone right of Lenin) are more likely to use lethal force. The left (again, personal experience) takes part in property destruction and low level assault. Silence the lunatic fringe at our own peril I think. It’ll just radicalise them further and bring more to their banner. Give them a platform and then tear their ridiculous world view apart (without insulting them, however much you despise their ideas) and you’ll turn people away from that ideology and de radicalise those already neck deep in it. I’d rather not make the same mistakes over and over again.

Exactly the far right mostly made up of x military that have 0 issues on extreme violence. Have to stop both forms of extremism. Middle ground needs to somehow be accomplished. |

It’s not really the same in the UK in terms of them being ex military, but the same still stands - they’re capable of killing eg the Jo Cox murder. He was just a nobody with access to guns. |

One of the issues is alot of the right rehtoric comes from people who seen other countries that are far worse then the US. People who saw other people with 0 rights. Then they come home and see how good life is here and they try to explain that their are far worse places you can be. It falls on deaf ears. So why not put america first then. Why can't we stop being world police. Why do we have to watch friends die in forgien lands. Only to come home to be ridiculed. |

First it's not a left-right issue, it's one side seeking equality and protection under the law. The other side is far right ideology fuelled by white supremacists that doesm't want to change the system, they want to destroy it and will use extreme violence to do so. And right wing extremism has become normalised. What the hell is patriotic about overturning election results through use of force?
White supremacist right wing extremism is the elephant in the room and it has to be dealt with. As the expression goes " When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross”
Interestingly Candace Owens when giving evidence to Congress in 2019 described white supremacy as a 'myth' We saw what that myth did in DC on jan 6. |

Then riots in your opinion is perfectly acceptable? It's the same violence just a different agenda. You can't stop it unless you condemn all forms of it. No matter the "political view". Burning down people's livelihood and looting is not a answer either. Calling that reparations and it's ok is wrong too. Then you wonder why people go either way. Depends on their outlook on what personal experiences they have. |

You’re missing the big point here - the left use violence too. Delegitimises the argument that they’re fighting for ‘equality’ when they’re murdering police officers in the street and destroying peoples businesses. There’s no justification for it. Ever.
The point I was making was this epic push to censor and de platform ‘the right’ will end in disaster. That’s all. You seem to be in favour of oppression but you’re entitled to that opinion. I think it’s just polishing the brass on the titanic ultimately. It’ll all go down.

Absolutely.
Looting & shooting which has had innocent children dead isn’t going to change the world is it? It’s not going to eradicate racism either.
Breaking into the Capitol because you're butthurt and angry about the results isn’t going to change the world either.
Both are wrong and both should be condemned.

It’s not whataboutery. You can’t sit and say ‘well my side is right and virtuous because they’re fighting for equality’ whilst trying to hold the moral high ground because your opponent uses violence. Both sides need their heads knocking together is my view. None of what’s gone on is acceptable. Draw a fucking line under all of it and meet in the middle and TALK, like decent human beings. |

All that matters is that political violence is wrong. The point still stands you don’t get to take the moral high ground in any debate about political violence when the side your cheering on has done the same. Maybe it is whataboutery? But just saying ‘that’s whataboutery’ comes with the implication that it’s irrelevant. It most certainly is not |

Good idea, hopefully that is what Biden will want to achieve, Trump was all about dividing the US not bringing them together , is that a fair comment?
I can’t see Biden or his administration bringing them together. Looks like the Salem witch trials at the minute. I can live in hope tho. You’re entitled to that opinion about trump. I can see how he could be seen as divisive.
He had 4 years to heal the rift, his tenure ended with a second impeachment and a riot that killed 5 people,
He also claimed voter fraud without any evidence and didn’t have the dignity or respect for democracy and his country to turn up to Biden inauguration, pathetic behaviour
Cosmic

When were the policemen murdered?
David Dorn was a retired police captain who was murdered by a BLM rioter.
Maybe that is who they are referring to?
Dunno.

But this thread was about Candace Owens...
Others made it go off on a tangent. Why isn’t their whataboutery off the scale?
I just find the minute you mention what went on at the Capitol..the standard response is ..but what about what blm did.
But this thread was never about any of that.
It was about Candace Owens, others decided to make it about left and right. "
That is the always the way, threads tend to go of topic, |

They do yes.
It’s more about that nobody shouted “Whataboutery” or similar to those who turned this thread into a left and right debate.

How can you trust the republican or the democrat parties? They are both full of deep state.
If US politics was ever cleaned up, you'd have to remove at least 85% of the current lot.
Same in the UK with mass corruption in both the Tory and Labour parties.

We vote independent. But lean a little more right on issues. Policies more important. But lately past 2 elections it's been mostly republican. |

She serves a similar role to that of Milo, she's a human shield for some vile individuals. With regard to substance, shes up there with Ben Shapiro, i.e. only the gullible and ignorant will be impressed. She's just another grifter peddling controversy, conspiracy theories that have poisoned public discourse and cost lives. Within the alt-right sphere she's a useful idiot. |

Yes that's right.
The great reset is just fantasy, it doesn't exist.
The world economic forum pushing for the great reset doesn't exist.

I don't even want to know why you find such a toxic person "refreshing" but interested to see what others think of her..
*grabs popcorn...*why toxic ? I think she is spot on in regard to alleged police brutality and the problems facing the black community.

"She’s a great woman who I often agree with.
This Candace Owens?
I actually don't have any problems at all with the word "nationalism". That's not, to me, that's not nationalism.
The covid denier and anti vaccine Candace Owen? That one?
Yes that one.
Do you know any other Candace Owens?
I just wanted to be sure it was the pro hitler, anti vax, conspiracy promoting, anti abortion far right Candace Owen you were so admiring of."

Once again, all those people you listed are mostly American. If you haven't got the time to listen to people in your own neck of the woods and issues here in the UK then your arguments become very basic. I'm fully aware of all the commentators you've listed and even agreed with Candace Owens on certain things. I'm also aware that she filed a lawsuit on the grounds of racial abuse back in the early 2000s yet we shouldn't be making everything about race. She's simply attention seeking and money driven. I liken her to Katie Hopkins.
As far as the alt right comment, I have no problem with conservatives views and opinions as along as they come from a place of honesty and reason. If you can find similar commentators here in the UK to add to your comments then I'll entertain further debate. At the moment, you're simply using people from diverse backgrounds to avoid honest conversations about race.
