Trump and violence

Just after the impeachment, President Trump has just posted a teleprompter video in which he calls for peace and says he's "shocked and saddened by the calamity of last week" and calls for unity. Once again, he makes it sound like a hostage video.

Watching the reaction of his base is *highly* entertaining. (Although I'm glad I'm not in the US because )

I've got the radio on, I'm keeping off the news today.

So I'm guessing his impeachment is going ahead?

He should be ashamed of himself, seeing footage of a police officer being brutally beaten by the mob and then hearing another has committed suicide apparently

Looks that way but they don't think the vote will be in before his term is up, but still pressing forward with it

Beat me to it. A successful impeachment would indeed ruin any chance of him running in 2024.

He's been impeached by the House, the only President to have this happen twice. (Congratulations Trump, you've made the history books )

It'll remain to be seen if he's convicted by the Senate, but that probably won't happen until Biden has been inaugurated.

Trump did wonders for the economy.

Of that there is no doubt.

He tried to make peace with North Korea, sorted the trade deal with China.

He took on areas of the middle East without fear of reprisal.

However, he made a fatal error that sparked a chain reaction leading to his downfall.

He took the press on.

With the new Senate, it remains to be seen. 50/50 D/R split (although 2/3 super-majority required for conviction)

And given corporate donors are distancing themselves or even asking for donations to be returned... I wonder if even most of the fuckwits will follow the money.

And I bet some Republicans, even ones who sympathise with him, are considering future career prospects over principles.

I’m not a Trump fan but the way Nancy Pelosi has treated him since he was elected is deplorable. Whatever she thinks of him she should be impartial as she’s the speaker. She said he stole the election he won, and she ripped up a copy of one of his speeches. She’s causing massive division in the USA.

She knows exactly how to wind him up and press his buttons.

I'm not defending Trump in the slightest. He's done some stupid stuff and made ridiculous statements, but going to war with the press was always going to cause division where people take sides.

That's a war no one can win.

Trump inherited a booming economy. Growth slowed when he took office. He didn't balls up the economy until Covid, that's true, but that's not the same thing as doing wonders for it. He has run up a colossal budget deficit so he gave give tax cuts to the rich. What specific actions that Trump took do you think did wonders for the economy?

He absolutely has not made peace with North Korea. They still have nuclear weapons and are more capable than ever of attacking foreign countries.

I don't know what you mean by taking on the middle East. He inflamed the situation by moving the US embassy to Jerusalem so please his Zionist voters back home, not because it's a good thing to do. He supposedly made a deal for Palestinian peace but in reality the Palestinians had no say in it and it was just imposed on them which is not going to bring peace. He got Iran enriching uranium again so they can make a nuclear bomb. What good things do you think he has done in the Middle East?

As for taking the press on, he just calls anything critical of him "fake news" which is a ploy never to have to justify himself publicly.

The man is an appalling individual. Thank christ he's nearly gone.

I thought he was a good bloke fighting against the neo-marxists in congress.

He had the balls to take on a left wing press and would have pulled apart the power of silicon valley in the next term if the election had not been stolen.

You can see how the left have now behaved by destroying peoples lives for their political opinion.

If you do listen to his speeches he does not promote violence. Unlike the left in America how did not say a word about the rioting by blm and antifa.

I feel this thread is slowly exposing people...

I actually fail to see how people can be so delusional to what’s right infront of them.

Trump came in with idea but left the county more divided than it’s ever been - imagine being impeached TWICE.

I moved home from the states shortly before he took office,

I listened to every speech from every rally since 2015,and was there seeing first hand how he brought the haters out from their Basements and gave them the flag to stand behind in public, I called his win months before when Bernie stepped down as it was obvious that Americans hated Clinton, so with that being said, Are you are licking the same windows that his mad red cap cult are?? You must be if you believe he does /did not promote violence,

2015 alone at least 5 rallies he is on tape calling for people to (knock the crap out of them)as opposition were being removed from his rallies, I'll pay for the legal fees on one occasion,

Couldn't condemn those at Charloteville, refused to condemn the failed kid-napp attempt on the MA Governor, fed the crowd exactly what they wanted to hear on the 6th knowing full well that Alex Jones and the likes had them buzzing from 5pm the evening before, refused to call in the national guard when shit got real later,

What speeches are you listening to man, infact forget that, what planet are you on,,

Of course he is promoting violence, as was Rudy G,and Don Jr

What else does Trial by Combat mean when talking to a few thousand unhinged nut jobs

No-Marxists?! Who the heck are you thinking is a neo-Marxist? America is one of the most purely capitalist countries in the world. Biden will keep it that way. Do you even know what Marxism is? Right-wingers use it as a scare tactic to get people to vote Republican. Just because Trump claims the opposition is socialist it doesn't mean they are.

It sounds like you've just taken Trump at his word. He is a power-hungry compulsive liar. Anything he says should be viewed with that in mind.

He says the election was stolen and yet has not provided one tiny little bit of evidence to back that up. He doesn't even think evidence matters. Many Republicans have clearly stated it wasn't stolen. He only says it because it's convenient for him. It suits his purposes of refusing to admit he is wrong or that he lost, and it's great for whipping up his worshipping supporters into a frenzy, and we saw on the 6th how dangerous that is.

As for BLM, they called for change They never tried to overturn democracy itself and install a dictator in the White House.

More bluff and bluster and a lack of facts as I would expect.

antifa did appear due to Trump, but has been around for years. It was started by the CCCP, in their POW camps. The basis of this was then pushed out to marxist groups around the world.

The idea of equality is admirable, but will never happen as the binman, pelosi and silicon vally have demonstrated. blm is historically a marxists trained organisation as stated by their co-founder Patrisse Cullors in 2015 (do try doing some research!).

The speaches by Trump I was refering to were concerning the recent rally in DC. The democrats, (I do think they should now change their name and be open about what they really are), had a similar rally after Trump was elected. They were just not ushered into congress by men in uniform (look at the video clips before saying anything please!).

Debate has been lost in this, and many countries around the world by people with limited knowledge trying to shout down anyone who does not follow the agenda.

You can see how the left have now behaved by destroying peoples lives for their political opinion.

If you do listen to his speeches he does not promote violence. Unlike the left in America how did not say a word about the rioting by blm and antifa.

Really and trump inciting violence and an insurrection is what he will be remembered for. Least Richard Nixon has the guts to stand accountable for his actions.

Debate has been lost in this, and many countries around the world by people with limited knowledge trying to shout down anyone who does not follow the agenda."

I watched the rally so what do you think trial by combat means?

Combat can take on many forms, you can have a combative debate.

I take it like eveyone else with a certain leaning, you want the crimes of the democrats, antifa and blm to be brushed away?

He took the press on.

"He's been impeached by the House, the only President to have this happen twice. (Congratulations Trump, you've made the history books )

It'll remain to be seen if he's convicted by the Senate, but that probably won't happen until Biden has been inaugurated.

He has to many fuckwit followers on the Senate for there to be a majority vote required for it to happen unfortunately

With the new Senate, it remains to be seen. 50/50 D/R split (although 2/3 super-majority required for conviction)

And given corporate donors are distancing themselves or even asking for donations to be returned... I wonder if even most of the fuckwits will follow the money.

And I bet some Republicans, even ones who sympathise with him, are considering future career prospects over principles."

Tbh these are my thoughts! I’d love to see the b****** in prison but can’t quite see it happening. I think it’ll all boil down to what the main herd leaders decide to do - which will be based on their electorate, big businesses and their future careers. I think there’d need to be a further shift against Trump from the ‘average’ republican (though God only knows what one of those is) and from all or most of Corporate America. Very few will base their decision on love/loyalty for team Trump. Impeachment is only a certainty if those who support Trump think they’ll be committing political suicide by supporting him.

I think many Americans would settle for the certainty that he’d never be able to run for a political post again.

Never has the phrase rats leaving a sinking sink been so apt.

If it weren't for covid Trump would have most likely won a second term as prior to this the economy was strong and he was well ahead in the polls.

After Trump had recovered from covid he said the virus was a gift from God, and that's the only thing I've ever heard him say that I totally agree with.

Thank God for covid and sparing the world 4 more years of his malignant influence.

Sadly it seems yet again it was a choice of the 'best of the worst' to lead the country.

Hopefully Biden learnt a thing or two from Obama, if not the USA is just going to fade to gray just like Biden.

Trumps plan was great, making America great again, the execution shocking. As for Biden, it is alleged he disagreed with Obama about dealing with Bin Laden, thing was Obama wasn't listening.

I wish there was a third option, neither Trump or Biden, either of which are no good for America.

Get real will ya.

"

Well said

It beggars belief that people still defend him.

I hope once he is out criminal charges are brought against him!
